NEODARK Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 This sucks, seems like there are no survivors. Sounds like another aviation dissaster  The pilot reported a fire on board and heavy turbulence, emergency officials said. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/europe/08/22/russia.crash/index.html
Force_Feedback Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I also read something about a fire at cruising alt. Bad day for aviation, espcially for the people involved. Are there ground casualties? Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Shaman Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Uh-oh. These things will happen all the time, the more planes are in the air the higher probability that one of them will crash sooner or later. Some experts say that in near future we can expect major air disaster every week or so. It's always a tragedy. Real problem is that mass-media feeds on these tragedies way to much. 1 51PVO Founding member (DEC2007-) 100KIAP Founding member (DEC2018-) :: Shaman aka [100☭] Shamansky tail# 44 or 444 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 100KIAP Regiment Early Warning & Control officer
NEODARK Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 Yup, the media always will be the media. It still sucks that it happens though. Worldwide, it's quite possible that more people will die or be born in the time it takes me to write this post. World Birth/Death Rates (2006 est.)1 Birth Rate: Death Rate: 20 births/1,000 population 9 deaths/1,000 population 128.9 million births per year 57.9 million people die each year 353,015 births per day 158,857 people die each day 14,709 births each hour 6619 people die each hour 245 births each minute 110 people die each minute 4 births each second of every day almost 2 people die each second

Or we might mess up the gulf stream, leading to rapid climate change (in decades, not 2 days :D), and casing great migrations. Also, there might be some epidemic that will not be contained. Or, we might get a visit from an Ori prior :p Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:

Force_Feedback Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Then well have to colonize deep space and bring our cinnamon flavored dental floss and sneakers with lights in the heels with us. In time, if we don't destroy eachother before then, which will probably happen. Very conflicting reports about the crash, I mean, if it really made an emergency landing (not ploughing into the ground at high sinkrates), wouldn't we see fuselage chuncks? And, lightning at 10km??? How often does that occur (other than static electricity building up)? Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
NEODARK Posted August 22, 2006 Author Posted August 22, 2006 Well, the news just got worse :( There were 39 children aboard, six of them under 2 years old, according to Pulkovo Airlines.
zaGURUinzaSKY Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 About 1,000 were produced. Although a popular aircraft, it has had a checkered history and has been involved in at least 30 air disasters since it went into service in 1968. That's 3% of crashing aircrafts... damn!! I would be scared to fly on one of them... Poor families. My sympathies to all of them. Robbie.
chrno120 Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 regarding how will there be a massive deaths.. Don't forget about the only two known Supervolcanoes, Yellowstone caldera & Lake Toba at Java, so much sulfur dioxide could drive the world to ice age.. That Tu-154 is in world news almost every year.. Condolences to their families.. The most stupid member in the forum

chrno120 Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 What are you talkin about? any link? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supervolcano http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellowstone_Caldera http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Toba sorry for the little OT, just responding.. Supervolcano eruptions dwarfed the all other major volcanic eruptions like Mt. St. Helens & Mt. Pinatubo. Mt. St. Helens had 5 on Volcanic Explosivity Index, Supervolcanoes had 8 Anyways, 'be praying for those who died in the crash and other deaths around the world.. The most stupid member in the forum
