Hello folks,

mainly flying air combats on WW2 dogfights server, getting nearly every time in fast approaching snapshots hard frame freeze, in that way it is impossible to hit something.

There possible some graphic tweaks in the options?

updated my PC with 16GB ram today but without help my system specs:

I7 3770K 3,5 Ghz

16 GB DDR3 Ram

GTX 970

and installed DCS normal Hard Drive

I have a similar spec to your's (except my CPU: I5 4690K @ 4.3Ghz), and similar issue... the HDD is the culprit, as reported by others users. What work for me: both shadows options set to flat and flat only, visibility distance set to medium, and try to not play too much with the "zoom" fonction, you will notice freeze when zooming in/out. And one last, the trees: distance 10000, not more. You can try this:

This mod remove the shadows of trees, useful.

Thx droopy for reply,

i use the mod with shadows removed also, i test your recommendation on the graphic settings thx.

have also currently a SSD and HDD hardrive installed, but i dont usuall install gaming stuff on my SDD C partition because aviable Space is not so big, only 120 GB.

When understand right intall DCS on a SDD would also bring a performance boost with the currently frame drops?

Yes, for pure performance (FPS) I don't know, but having DCS on an SSD will reduce load time>no more freezes or stuttering. Buy an SSD will be my next upgrade.

Hi, currently I have 8 GB ram. Which upgrade will have a biggest impact on reducing stutters, ssd or ram ?

Thanks

saying...if you need to swap with 8GB to HHD you are lost !!

16GB dont swap...and 8GB swap to SSD is less harmfull too...either way it's a benefit

So after upgrading my system again I know this was fast, now DCS run on my new SSD with 16Gb ram it's going now smooth like butter.

I can really recommend the SSD, it have much impact on the Frames stutters.

I am glad you give the feedback needed to put like a stamp under this recommendation ;)

Your SSD also "breathes" better with more RAM, there are many reviews that proof this.

Clean Up your SSD drive on a regular schedule with the embeeded Win10 tools, include System Files too. There are tons and Gigabytes hidden in the system after WIn10 updates/upgrades..usually 15GB per Build. Applies to all Versions of 10.

Just upgraded my RAM to 16 GB. The difference is significant and I can see why ED put system recommendations to 16 Gb RAM. The stutter's still there but less noticeable. With 8 Gb the stutter really bad that it could like paused and suddenly I found myself slammed into the ground.

Cheers
