Oculus Rift to hit BestBuys and Amazon this weekend

They charged tax on my Vive preorder.

Wow that's too bad about the sales tax. Usually in the US if a company does not have a physical store in a given state, they don't charge sales tax. Oculus doesn't have retail stores so there shouldn't be sales tax. I didn't pay any sales tax on my PC for example.

They don't charge because the end user is supposed to declare the tax on their 1040. But I digress.

 

I don't know if Oculus charged me tax or not. In NY, Amazon orders get taxed, for example. I'll check my Vive order when I get home to see if tax was included. My guess is, it was included.

Wow, looks like that's the case for Colorado, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, or Vermont.

Hey now...you're in TX. No state tax anyway, right? :) I remember most folks in the military trying to declare TX as domicile! :)

It's the case in most any state that has state sales tax.

LOL! I'm taking my hotspot and laptop to lunch tomorrow. Hopefully I can snag one and cancel my Pre(my ass!) Order from Rift.

 

Hell my Vive showed up on Tuesday and will be setting it up tomorrow. But I'm also picking up my drill press to help me build my HOTAS "shelves" around my desk, so we'll see how much I can squeeze in. So many toys...so little time. :)

So much for Best Buy in Los Angeles… they only had 4 units at opening and had to turn a crowd of people away. The few that got them camped overnight.
