Ok,

so, I am re-installing DCS World to be able to experiment with the Gazelle.

Question 1)

At the download section I have two versions 1.5, 1.5 Early Access.

I believe the Early Access is always the latest beta of 1.5, but, can I install this one alone ?

I started both installers and noticed that apparently the Early Access one announces it'll download less content ( around 12 GB ) while the one that is associated with the non Early Access version indicated a download of around 20 GB ?

Is there any difference between this two versions of DCS other than the Early Access one being an open beta ?

Question 2)

Can the Gazelle be installed in 1.5, or only in Nevada ? When it was released I believe it said in the shop that it was meant to be installed in 2.0, but the latest update to 1.5 mentions Gazelle compatibility ?

Thx for any hints!

Besides the stuff which is in beta the 2 clients should be the same content wise.

The Gazelle can be installed in 1.5 but not yet.

At the moment the Gazelle is only available in 2.0 and in 1.5.x open beta but will be available in the stable client of 1.5.x at a later point.

Ah! Ok golani79 - so if I install the "Early access 1.5" I'll be able to install the Gazelle, right ?

I think that if you have 2.0 alpha it is copying files from there to the 1.5 early access as i'm pretty sure that's what happened last week when i updated a very outdated 1.5 early access to get ready for the gazelle. 1.5 stable might be a full clean install. The gazelle works in 1.5 early access, i've been flying it for the last 2 days with no problems.

Correct, but you'll also be able to install the Gazelle in the final release version in a few days too. Best advice, unless you want to have all the updates as soon as they're released is to go for the more stable full release version. That way, if any updates that come along have issues. then they'll be dealt with before the updates arrive for the full release version.

Be aware too that until the Caucasus map has been adapted for the latest graphics engine there is also a 2.0 Alpha version. This tends to be updated alternately with 1.5.3, so inevitably, even with the Beta version, there will be times when you have no access to updates and additions until it is 1.5.3s turn for them.

Best advice - always go with the release version unless you want to risk unstable updates. You will however get them a little earlier by going down the less stable Beta/Alpha path.

Thank you all guys!

I had been doing that for months, but forgot... A long hiatus into X-plane and FSX can cause these lacks of memory :-)

Ok,

installed only the Early Access because I really want to test the latest updates that are released between stable versions.

Most of the time when I leave an online session I get a CTD. I believe this was already the way it was the last time I had DCS installed... No big deal because it doesn't crash while playing, only when leaving the game, and particularly when I have been using in Multiplayer.

I purchased the DCS GAZELLE FOR 2.0.2 world, now I see that the current version offered in DCS e-shop is for both 1.5.3 qnd 2.0 world. How can I use the module in 1.5.3 without repurchasing the module?

When you buy the module you get both versions, no matter when you bought it. So that serial number you got will work currently in 2.0.2 and 1.5.3 beta.

And if you guy hate updates, imagine having to test it....every version update I have to blow out all my settings and install it fresh for testing. I do it for the love of the sim. Probably why I have so many gray hairs...well that and being married with two daughters - that'll give anyone gray hairs.

My Compliments to you Poly_Roie

Not many can perform such a extreme balance act . The gray hairs are just the dedication and the sheer intestinal fortitude for work and family. This I know from experience. My hat is off to you sir.
