I have experienced much improved performance, and I am wondering if I am the only one.

My system is quite modest: i5 3350p, GTX 770 2Gb, 8Gb Ram, 512 Gb SSD, Win 10

The last few beta's there were two weak spots for me.

In the Huey Easy Ground Attack quick mission after blowing up all the trucks I used to get only 20 fps close to the smoke.-> Now 60 fps

In the SU-25T campaign first mission close to the coast used to be unplayable for me at ca 10-20 fps -> Now same spot 50 -80 fps.

I have attached screen shots, including my settings. I think I am running at highest settings with Visibily Range Extreme, 16x Anisoptric Filtering, MSAA 16xQ, Shadows Ultra. The only lower setting is Flat Terrain Shadows On.

Now some speculation: before these measurements I played around with a HTC Vive, and got very poor performance, so I turned everything to lowest setting, but still got poor performance. When I returned to DCS to play on a monitor I initially kept those low settings, and got ridiculously high fps like 200 fps. So slowly I started to switch to higher settings in many small steps, and in the end I found that even with the highest settings I am getting excellent performance. Perhaps the increased performance has something to do with a clean start of the settings file?

Second possible cause is maybed the reduced aiming of the machine guns of enemy tanks and other vehicles. Perhaps that cost a lot of calculation power in the past?

Well it is a mystery for me, I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Just the opposite for me, I'm seeing stutters again. The last 2 previous versions were good, however.

EDIT: This patch somehow broke the NVidia Inspector settings I've been using, whereas running DCS on the default preset is still smooth. Investigating...

Before my measurements reported above I had already ordered an extra 8 Gb Ram. It came a couple of days later and I have installed it for a total of 16 Gb, but do not notice any improvement. Wasted a bit of money it seems, well it will be useful when Nevada finally comes to Steam.

When flying the A-10C in the original campaign on the coast I am getting lower fps when looking at Batumi at close range, about 30 fps. Especially the airport seems to cost a lot of fps, although there is not much going on. This performance is similar to earlier results. The improved performance with the Huey in the fast mission and the SU-25T in the campaign are still there. I look forward to finally playing the SU-25T campaign.

Believe me You're gonna need every little bit of it with Nevada, as it has a massive appetite for memory. So You would buy it soon anyway :D.

I think I have similar experiences. Area around Kobuleti was the by far worst place in matter of performance to me. Sometimes only 27 fps. Its hell with headtracker. But now I have at least 34 fps at this place. Way better.

Only bad news - for myself. Turns out my performance has indeed suffered across the board again and the NVI default setting only ran goodish because the mission I tried it with was kind of sparse. I'm frankly speaking getting tired of this, because this is not the first time when the sim performs well for a while and then all of a sudden, it all goes down the drain again when I patch it. Granted, this _is_ a beta, but still...

I don't know, maybe uninstall v1.5b and let things cool down for a bit?

I've noticed improvement in 1.5 as well... but I just assumed it was my imagination.

So I didn't, but did what I did the last time this happened, i.e. reinstalled the graphics driver, let it run with the shader cache off for a while and then switched it back on. Result: a smooth-running sim again.

Make of that what you will, but as weird as it is it WORKS nonetheless...
