.. and I don't mean simply vehicles and buildings that you can 'shoot' at.

I'm specifically thinking of training with dumb weapons; un-guided bombs and rockets.

I would like to have a big, fat, white, 'paper' target to lay on the ground with a diameter of about 50 yards and a huge bulls-eye.

Add training munitions which don't explode, but mark the target so that the pilot can see where he hit the target, maybe even an automated range-master who would tell the trainee how well he did when he fired a weapon.

That would be the awesome-sauce thumbs-upwink.gif

For what aircraft? The A-10C has training ammunition for the gun. As well as a large selection of BDU's (Bomb Dummy Unit) wich are filled with sand to mimick the balastics of real bombs. Sometimes they are equiped with a small smoke charge as well in order to spot the impact. A selection of training Hydra rockets also exists.

Check my F-15C guide

I'm thinking specifically of 40's and 50's aircraft, but dumb trainings munition for any AC should probably not be a major issue.

I'd rather see the devs spending their ressources on developing proper weapons to be honest.

So, I've installed this and set up a mission. The circular bombing target is spot on thumbs-upwink.gif. Nice mark that stays put long enough for you to look over your shoulder and and see how you did.

Only the gunnery target... when you're coming in at 250 mph, it's only the size of a tea cup!! ... okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a tad :music_whistling:

I've still got to install CA to add the scripts, but my expectation are high :)

Very will done, and just what the doc... eh, Captain ordered :D

The 476th Range Objects Mod isn´t working as intended with the new 1.5.5

The original thread about this mod is no longer available so im posting this here for any of the 476th team.

Is a texture problem, the mod works but now the lighting and textures are different, and transparent from certain angles.

Thanks in advance 476th.

IT seems that the problem is that now the Range Objects are a little below terrain and this causes the "effect"

Also the objects are visible through the canopy.
