@Hagenthat's beautiful!

I'm really interested in how you designed your solenoid switches.  Could you share how you did it?  I've been tinkering with electromagnets but I'm not completely happy with them, I'd love to see your solution.

@HagenCela semble incroyable !

For the solenoid I was inspired by: https://giovannimedici.wordpress.com/2021/06/13/low-cost-magnetic-held-switch/
I redid the design to fit my assembly

@Hagen,

Love your work mate, welcome to the nut house of Turkey pit builders.

2x questions for you.

1. Can you post the 5 row switch you used? I think @LASoonerused the generic stuff on ebay but it was too short.

2. If you are up to it, could you please post a copy of the 3d model here, it would be greatly appreciated when you are happy with them.

Keep up the good work.

@AusMumbles

Here is the link on aliexpress, but it should be the same: Aliexpress

The 5 row switch is indeed smaller, that's why I modeled hats that compensate for this offset.

I will publish the files as soon as this is finalized.

Ahh copy. I can the offsets under the switches in the model now that you pointed it out.

For anyone that wants a pre-fabricated solenoid switch, Im just about to purchase some 2 and 3 Pos Magnetically Held Switches from Flitepal. I'll let you know what I think when I get them.

Heya Gents,

Quick update from me.

My HSD is fully functional using an Arduino Leonardo.

The ACM Panel housing and acrylic came up really well with my custom Korry Switches from 737DIY Sim. (They are excellent parts).

I'm just tinkering with the VDI before I release the lot. I'm not happy with the left and right indicator housing and wire routing holes on my current design.

Cheers,

Mumbles

@hagen do you think it is possible If I modify a little bit your « hats » to obtain a little bit more space between button ? Like 22 mm ? If yes do you agree to share your sketchup ou 3D fusion file so I can modify it . I do not ask you to do it. I will.

Hello,
Here are the files for the row of 5 switches.
The drilling for the panel must be 14 mm, for the backplate I put a side drawing.
The screw for the top of the button allows rotation when pressed
There is an exploded view photo for assembly.

@BULLITT83 I will send you the file shortly.

A+

hi guys ! i like to share with you also what i've done i'm almost sure that all of you have done it , even better than me , but here is my "wheel " to control cockpit temperature and lighting system.

And here are the STL , the wheel 1 is the one you have on the video, the wheel 2 is a modified one with more deeper "edges" , so you can choose , but i prefer the second one.  i use some M3 screw with Flat head screw to do not interfer with the wheel.

I’m really enjoying seeing the progress everyone is making. I hadn’t touched mine in several months and all the recent posts inspired me to get back to work. I tested out the throttle quadrant and have all buttons working connected to my Leo Bodnar BBI-64, but found that it doesn’t support potentiometers so will need to use a pro micro for the pots.

I’ve resumed design and 3D printing of control panels, focusing on the left side first. I do have a question about the side panels since I have not yet committed to doing a full cockpit- at what angle are the side panels in relation to the floor?

HI ITR1102 n i can told you that tomorrow , i will mesure my angle on my structure.

I've a question for you : you build the throttle from the 3D cult ? don't you find some problem with some gears ? scale issue ?

I print gears , but before i start to build it , it look like some gears are not at the good scale ? and some parts are missing looking at the folder i find on thingiverse . what is the best source to download all parts ?

I was able to download everything off of either Cults3D or Thingiverse and there may have been a part or two sourced from attachments in this thread. Another member sent me a modified file for the left throttle handle with a bend to reduce the space between it and the right throttle. I remember crudely modifying a couple of files to allow the use of a momentary slide switch for the speed brake. I still have all the files I used but will admit it’s not organized well on my computer.

Well gentlemen, its official. Looks like well be modifying our cockpit plans, at least a bit. Except of course for @AusMumbles, who in his wisdom already did so. Looking forward to it!

@Yogi8 Do you have a the DCS Bios stuff figured out for the throttle quadrant? Anyone else have files available for Arduino / Pro Micro? I'm ready to ditch my Virpil stuff and switch over to the home built panels 🙂

It’s the F-14B(U) upgrade. “Sparrowhawk”.
