wingsuit Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I've just purchased a couple chopper modules and wanted to see if there were any threads that give info on multiplayer gameplay and where the helicopters come in. I havent found anything in my searches but I'm sure I'm just missing it as its likely a topic thats been covered before. I've seen enough videos that show chopper pilots flying supplies to farps etc but I'm wondering is there a guide or anywhere I can go to find more info on how you load/unload equipent, and or any strategy guides about what type of troops to bring and how to best help your side in a match? up until this point I've just been flying air/air combat so its a side of the game I'm currently unfamiliar with and trying to get up to speed. cheers.
Bidartarra Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 You can go to the Open conflict server, there's a script for CSAR missions. You can also move around cargo. Its uber fun to go pick up downed pilots where ever they end up. Had to pick up one one A very steep slope, hovered above the pilot low enough to get him on board . Operation blu for is good too although perhaps not for a beginner (lots more team coordination to have) . But it's a really enjoyable play.

The videos you saw for supply flights might have been from the awesome Operation BlueFlag: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=167590 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Join us here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=145886 Choose MEDIC helicopter (either UH-1H or Mi-8) Use your radio menu to handle missions: F10->F9 gets you to rescue missions menu, you get a list of active calls by pressing F1. There are 3 kinds of rescue missions listed: 1 Safehouse runs- you get a list of safehouses (static locations) and number of pilots currently awaiting pickup. These are really good for beginners, I think the closest one is just about 25 km from your homebase (Kutasi Medical Center for BLUE side). 2 "Wrecks" those are human pilots that spawned chute after being shot down. Appereance of those is dependent on how the fixed wing guys perform, but in my experience you better get your Mi-8 ready, because it has 7 slots you can pickup personel into. In other words- SAR pilots get really busy, I fly pretty much every day and we are always short on MEDIC pilots ;) 3 CAP runs- if enemy player ejects too deep into your side of Conflict Zone, you can pick them up too and make them POW after they get their standard medical checkup. Please note you need TWO empty personel slots on your chopper, bedcause they are being companied by a friendly commando unit. After you pick up either of above, you get a list of "drop off airfields" with F10->F1->F2 You can also use radio navigation to help you find the way around: write "-re" followed by your objective ID for nav requencies (you can use FM, or ADF homing, both frequencies will appear on top of heading and distance). For example- let's say friendly pilot gets ejected, a message will apear telling you heading and distance to his location. Each pilot will get a "codename"- starting with PIL1, then next one will be PIL2 etc. so if you write: "-re pil1" into the chat, you will get all the information needed to either find him. When you get close to his location, he will deploy green smoke. Land next to it (or hover above it no higher than 15m, or 50 ft with forward speed below 1m/s) and pick him up with: F10->F9-F4 When you have him onboard, you can get a list of drop of airfields: F10->F9->F2 Each arfield has it code (just as those chuted pilots had- PIL1, PIL2 etc), for example Kutasi Medical Center is listed as "MED", therefore you will get all homing info with: "-re med" typed into the chat. For enemy pilots pickups you replace PIL1 with CAP1, you will note they appear exactly the same way as regular pilots do. On top of rescue missions there are supply missions that make you run supply runs you can access with: F10->F8 Check what Forward Hospital/ FARP needs what supplies, load them up and deliver. After you supply them with all they listed you will enable that place to be a drop off zone for picked up personel. That's about it. Make sure you fly low in Conflict Zone so those fighter jets don't shoot you down (Nap of the Earth profile recommended ;) ). If you have questions, ask in the thread I linked before. 1 [sIGPIC]http://i55.tinypic.com/21oydlx.jpg[/sIGPIC] ヒューイ最高!o(≧∇≦o)

wingsuit Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Thanks for the tips. I'll give some of those suggestions a go. Cheers I'm tearing apart my office this weekend for new carpets then am rebuilding as a better flight sim setup. My slaw viper rx pedals arrived last week so looking forward to trying them for the heli's.
