Hey guys! Anyone here runs the dk2 with increased pixel density? I tried the dk2 at my friend's place a while ago and wasn't impressed with the clarity. He was running a 970 with the headset at the time and density wasnt an option. He is getting a cv1, so ill be able to get the dk2 dirt cheap.(100bucks or so). Has anyone experienced the dk2 in dcs with increased pixel density here? Is it noticably better in tems of hud/gauges reading? I'm running a 1530mhz overclocked 980ti in a water loop with a 4.5ghz 6600k, so it should handle PD at 2 given the dk2's reduced resolution I reckon?

Thanks ahead!

The DK2s wont be supported by the runtime for that much longer,

(Per Oculus Devs)

$100 would be a steep price for something that has less than a year left.

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

I'm not looking into using the headset anywhere outside dcs and perhaps generic vr applications. As far as I know Asynchrous time warp has already been implemented, and the headset is Steam VR compatible. I understand Oculus not supporting it much longer since it has no hardware to interact with future motion controlls, but I doubt the DK2's will suddenly become unservicable in an influx of VR manifacturers and standartisation in VR support.

@OP,

I still have a DK2 and the Pixel Density Override set at 1.4 or better makes a HUGE difference in clarity. I don't have god rays, it doesn't get that hot, the sweet spot is fairly large, 75 fps is more easily achievable by DCS with ATW (and "shush" WT without ATW), and tracking is fine. It is a heavy unit so I made the modification that adds a headset top (don't use the shield itself) to it:

so it feels a little better and doesn't use the straps to hold it on.

The SDE is a little worse but it may turn out to be a great placeholder while we wait for CV2.

Thanks for the input! How readable is the HUD for you with pixel density cranked? can you read the MFD's without having to glue your face to them?
