another problem that I never had, until now if I am looking somewhere else, all I had to do was to recenter trackir when coming back to screen. Now trackir seems to disconnect, if I wait too long it freezes until I restart DCS.

You guys really no how to ruin stable version.

TrackIR is much more stable for me now since today's patch, but still if I look well away from the screen for too long I still get the "Head tracking disabled" message and TrackIR stops working completely and won't recover. I have to restart TrackIR and restart DCS. Don't know if that's the way it is should be but the best thing I've found to do is "pause" TrackIR when looking away and then unpause when returning your eyes to the screen. No problems then.

I stumbled across this post while searching. I have had this problem well over a year, never got around to trying to solve it. Got annoyed enough today to start looking for an answer. In my case, I always pause Track IR then this usually happens when I'm going through startup check list, occasionally I unpause Trackir to view a panel, then pause again. often enough, I get through most of the startup and TrackIR is unresponsive. The top light will cycle colors indicating its paused or not, but the bottom lite is completely out. So how do I get ahold of this "log" to post it or send it? Thanks,

Just stumbled across a fix for me after about 3 months of trackIR freezes and disconnects.

My light filtering was set too high...move the slider back a bit and everything is smooth again.

I use the highest setting in brighter weather to filter out small extraneous light sources other than the clip or led to prevent stutter.

But this was causing freezes and disconnects in the less bright overcast winter so much that sometimes when starting the trackIR software the reflected clip wasnt being detected by the camera.

I assumed my ancient trackir3 was on the blink but not the case apparently.

I will look into that, not sure haw applicable it is for me though since my rig is setup in the basement and its usually sundown sundown when I'm on. Ambient lighting is moderate, I keep it fairly dim once the sim is on.

Well, a follow-up to this issue. Unfortunately all the crap I posted about 3D video settings and everything else were purely spurious results. NOTHING resolved the TIR disconnect issue until I reverted back to Win 8.1. Now, it is possible that the version of windows also has no bearing and that my issue disappeared simply by reinstalling the OS. But I am good for now. Good luck.
