Bunyap Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 (edited) Here is the first of several videos documenting the process I used to learn the DCS: F-5E. This is an in depth look at the aircraft systems, how to operate them, and how to employ them during missions. These are intended for new players who are new to the F-5 and DCS: World and not sure where to start but I go into enough depth that experienced players can enjoy them as well. Hook47 Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 (edited) Bunyap, you are the man Can I ask how you capture your Rift footage? My Shadowplay capture also gets my desktop in the background Edited July 25, 2016 by Hook47
Vitormouraa Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Very nice indeed.. the quality is just awesome, also 60fps is very cool, I can't wait to watch the part 2! SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com
Bunyap Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Ramsey, I use keyboard alt-enter to make it full screen then scale it horizontally as I edit the video so it looks normal again. Thanks Vitormouraa, part 2 is up. :)
Konovalov Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Great stuff Bunyap. I will be following your F-5E videos with keen interest as I seek to explore and learn this aircraft. I enjoyed greatly your old series on the Rook SU-25 and I am sure it will be even better with this series. Thank you for your invaluable work. I can sense your enjoyment and passion for aviation in your voice audio. Also thank you for not using any harsh language so my 5 year old son can also watch. Finally my 91 year old grandpa who was a navigator in a Mosquito bomber during WW2 also loves to watch your vids. Konovalov Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Video number 3 is up covering walk around and startup. The walk around with the oculus rift is a fantastic advertisement for VR. Bunyap Posted August 1, 2016 Author Posted August 1, 2016 #3 is now posted above. Thanks a lot Konovalov & f4l0. Fab, I just used the "VR" button at the bottom of the settings screen and took whatever those settings were. Years ago I would spend a lot of time tweaking and checking framerates but I have grown to despise that whole process. 1

(what did you do at 2:08 ? in video#3) and did you use Rift or TrackIR ? TY Edited August 1, 2016 by NRG-Vampire
Bunyap Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 #4 is up: Vampire, I used LCtrl-F11 to get the view and the mouse/mouse wheel to move around. It is fine as long as you keep level and use your head, not the mouse, to look up or down. Otherwise it can be... disorienting. :) 1
PitbullVicious Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 Excellent videos once again, Bunyap. Bunyap Posted August 6, 2016 Author Posted August 6, 2016 Thanks man. Yeah, I brought the view in to fill the frame a little more. Folks complained about the normal view as folks sometimes do.
PitbullVicious Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Thanks man. Yeah, I brought the view in to fill the frame a little more. Folks complained about the normal view as folks sometimes do. I think it's a great idea as the sharpest focal point of the OR lenses is right in the middle, and I think that people usually tend to use much less peripheral vision or move their eyes from the centre line with OR than IRL, so you probably don't loose much cropping the extremes. I might steal that idea ;) i9-9900K @ 5.1GHz | MSI Ventus 3X OC RTX3090 24GB | 64GB 3200MHz DDR4 | Asus ROG Strix Z390-E | Asus Xonar DGX 5.1 Sound Card | Virpil T50CM2 base w/ F/A-18C / A-10C / Virpil T50CM2 Grip | WinWing Super Taurus Throttle | MFG pedals | TekCreations Hornet UFC, Landing Panel, Right Console | WinWing Hornet Combat Ready Panel | Buddy Fox UFC | Foxx Mount | 3 x TM Cougar MFD | HP Reverb G2 | Wacom Intuos S (with VRK) | Honeycomb Alpha Yoke | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | CH Fighter Stick Pro & Throttle | MS Sidewinder 2 FFB | Track IR 5 | Oculus Rift CV1 善く戦う者は、まず勝つべからざるを為して、以て敵の勝つべきを待つ。
