Andrew-76 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 As we already have L-39 it would be nice to have also it's successor in the game. I think lot of work could be taken from L-39 module. L-159 is similar looking lightweight agile cost efficient and durable combat aicraft with air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities, equipped with modern avionics and NATO's weapons. GeorgeLKMT Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) I remember posting to another L-159 wishlist thread a few months ago, so you're not the only one. It's a nice aircraft and it would fit in DCS quite nicely with its capabilities. But virtually nothing could be taken from L-39. They're two completely different airframes, technologicaly 30 years apart. Edited July 28, 2016 by GeorgeLKMT ■ L-39C/ZA Czech cockpit mod ■ My DCS skins ■
cichlidfan Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Similar looking is a meaningless statement in this context. Mike5560 Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Well it'd sure be fun. Much more capability and 3x the climb rate of an L-39C....making it the most flexible and kinematic trainer to date. But there may not be much of a market for it due to the similarities to an L-39.
Mrpijus123 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 It'd render the L-39 completely useless. Why go for something less powerful with 2/4 hardpoints when you can have a modern light attack aircraft with 6 hardpoints.

Because they might like that particular aircraft,
wedge_one Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 that's a very sexy cockpit, with two mfds and an ICP much like the F-16. I approve. ¬ wedge Wishlist: DCS: F-16C wedgeDCS - Modern Custom CSS themes for the Forum
Andrew-76 Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 But there may not be much of a market for it due to the similarities to an L-39. I was thinking more like current L-39 mod could contain both aircrafts rather than creating another mod for similar one. I feel like L-39 combat capabilities are very limited due to aircraft's age and primary focus as training machine. L-159 is designed for modern combat. It could catch attention of people who would otherwise overlook L-39. Those who are now probably playing A-10C instead.
Zettman Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 that's a very sexy cockpit, with two mfds and an ICP much like the F-16. I approve. The rear cockpit seems to have 3 MFDs. Just imagine what two people with working multicrew could do with a total of 3 MFDs. I mean you could even watch a youtube video during combat! :pilotfly: Zettman OS: Windows 10 64 Bit, MB: ASUS X99-A, CPU: Intel Core i7 5820K @ 4.4GHz watercooled, RAM: 32GB DDR4 @ 2133MHz, GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1080 watercooled, MISC: LG 34UM95-P (3440x1440@60Hz), TM Warthog, MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals, TrackIR 5, Oculus Rift CV1
