Use / and * on your numpad to zoom.

In general a headtracker is not used to zoom. Its for moving your head rotatory and translational.

If you want the zoom on your headtrackers z-axis (leaning forward and backward), go into control settings. Than watch your axis settings. Scroll down to "Zoom" and align it to your z-axis of your headtracker. Should work but not very comfortable.

Nope, all 6 dof are needed with TIR. It is head position, not zoom you are controlling.

Sorry I can't help you coolpoint. I'm having a lot of different issues myself.

reset/or clear then default, you track_z axis in axis assign & axis tune? (sometimes loses proper binding)

(I zoom with buttons also, way more range, with my nose in the HUD when coming in for canon strafe :) )

edit

I reverted from 1.5.4.55584.141 back to 1.5.4.55169.134, too many problems (VGA crash)

Just upgraded 1.5.4.55952.150, seems ok-ish

+1 Always done it this way, and rotary in place of longitudinal shift...
