I've had the A-10C a few years but only spent a bit of time with it. I'm using the Saitek x52 pro and with no TrackIR I manage to set up some snap views which help navigate through the controls. Since there are hundreds of variable cockpit control commands, which have you found most important to map to the HOTAS?

Thank you.

TRIM - with modifier (Mic in) on CMS (Down > reset)

Active Pause :)

All labels

On the MIC button:

Zoom in Zoom out slow - forw/back

F1 cockpit view mod_forw

F2 aircraft view mod_back

"F4 Look back view" (Peddle) mpd_Dwn

"F6 Weapon to target view" mod_Up

F4 to see if and what you hit after CCIP dive

Maverick deploy, after release set autopilot 'path', hit F6 button and enjoy a ride on your Maverick, toggle F1 and F6 so I chk I dont hit a mountain or the ground

I built my own homebrew track IR for $30. That's $20 of a genuine Wiimote and $10 in old TV remotes from goodwill. Works great.

I've found the most important controls to map to the HOTAS are the ones on the A-10's HOTAS. Sounds silly, but what's on that stick is what you need in flight.

Light the tires kick the fires!
