DCS: Carrier Ops

Is there any update regarding Admiral Flota Sovetskogo Soyuza Kuznetsov and USS Carl Vinson upgraded 3D models and carrier operations ? Thanks

Would wait until F/A-18 is released. And at that point, carrier ops would be following, probably as a module package.

This is what was said "We see 2016 as a big year for aircraft carrier operations as we plan to release both Nimitz-class aircraft carrier and Kuznetsov-class aircraft carrier modules. Both of these modules will be incredibly detailed models with working elevators, interior hanger bays, animated ship systems, and the ability to walk around inside the ships. These will be optional modules that would replace the existing ships currently in DCS World."

 

But as always, the caveat: "Everything is subject to change" :doh:

But I really hope they stick to that date.

Yeah this "Everything is subject to change” kinda scary, hope they will stay with plan and will not simplify models. I hope Devs will give us some more info on this project progress; it is strange that they religiously provide bunch of updates on WWII module situation, but not so much on modern aviation projects from ED. Anyway, let’s keep our fingers crossed; maybe soon we will get extensive update on Carrier ops and F-18C !

Really? It wasn't that long when the WWII guys felt that they were being ignored. ED releases info as they see fit. QUIT LOOKING INTO SOMETHING THAT IS NOT THERE.

Kuzia looks really nice :D

But could they use more polygons for models, as now we have Pascal Graphics ( GTX-1080 Ti soon to arrive hopefully) , so hardware should handle more advanced 3D models, IMHO

Close. The difference being that TFC / ED own all of the rights to the DCS / TBS IP. Also, we, the general public are not able to buy TBS AFAIK.
