yeah, I'm also waiting for this to be fixed :(

we could do it manually before last update

To fix what ? It wasn't correct to be able to release without designation.

But "selective jettison" should allow to do what you want.

oh, really ? I thought it was just a bug ... sad news then ...

I'll be using selective jettison. Will it be dropping all EF1's at the same time ? :/

I talked with CptSmiley about this and we pretty much agree on this that sometimes having a manual CCIP drop is better for few occasions where you want to drop it in your own way

He told me that he's gonna have a talk with Zeus about it and that's it so we'll see I guess

I really hope we get a way to manually release a GBU-12

Why should there ever be a manual gbu12 release irl. It sounds like an awfully dangerous and seriously not recommended thing. :D

has releasing gbu's in ccip any benefit over releasing dumb bombs?

Seriously?? Pls don't! GBUs are not supposed to be dropped manually. Keep it realistic pls.

GBU's can be released manually, like A-10C can in CCIP mode which is in DCS atm better way to drop them if you know what you're doing

And it's an option you don't have to use it if you don't want to ...

As you said, CCIP, but GBU12s in the mirage are release in CCRP. So no manual release for you. Unless someone finds out that against info atm you can switch between CCRP and CCIP independant of payload.

Can the ccrp bombs be released at any time in the real aircraft ?

No.

You need to designate target to get a firing solution.

But some people developed a tactic, built on game's bugs, to release GBU-12 from long range at very high altitude and supersonic speed...

see, we need this to perform drops from horizontal flight, without having to do this stupid dive to mark the IP

The supersonic part can be omitted, and even with current CCrP without the IP, its well possible.

At 11-12 nm pitchup to exchange all excess speed you have for alt, so A) the alt loss is not as important and b) you dont have to handle as much G load.

Then when within 10nm, roll over, pitchdown, mark next to waypoint indicator, roll over again, pitch up while keeping the trigger pressed. Mission accomplished, space gbu12 dropped.

For Ip bombing, didnt Zeus say if radar isnt available, no ins update is done and you just can do it without ins update ? So turn radar off and you are free to bomb whatevar you want, ofc with INS drift ?

And if that is not an option, set the IP 50 miles away, problem solved as well.

But stahp that silly unrealistic CCRP drop without a cue, I mean, WTF.

But also are you sure jojo, that high alt is also restricted to subsonic with a2g ?

For the Viggen for example its only up to 5000ft afaik.

EDIT: Honestly accelerating to supersonic up there with a2g is painfull anyway and doesnt give you more extra really.

You are mixing 2 attack modes:

- CCRP direct attack: designate the target

- CCRP + IP attack: designate the IP then loft the bomb to target (not available yet)

Mirage 2000C isn't a Mirage 2000D. The NAV system isn't accurate enough to attack on coordinates.

With the "IP" option it's ok because the IP designation is in fact a NAV position update shortly before release.

CCRP already works with lofting, cue is only appreaing to late, if you do pitch up early enough it will release correctly though.

Well, space gbu12 can divert 3 miles from target no problem. So for them I consider it legit to ommit the IP INS update, if that is possible, as it did sound to me.

If you are flying with an A10C, he designate the target with laser and then tell you when to release the bomb > Manual release

IRL M2000C did that in africa, assisted by the 2000D
