Agreed. Baur's approach to his controllers seems to be copying the behavior and functionality of actual flight controls (by the means of size and scope) and bring them to our flightsim hobby, while the usual "joystick" manufacturers seem to focus on building a smallish plastic device that may be used in flightsims, too. Quite a difference in concepts here...

So do you mean that if we increase the pressure/push on the pedals than it becomes stiffer as we push further like in real a/cs? :noexpression:

Maybe someone who owns a BRD stick can comment on that? From what I read, the BRD sticks com with swappable cam profiles that should work along these lines, yes.

(FYI - my VKB Mamba MkIII works similarly, with the cam providing some resistance as I go to the extremes)

The cam profile that came with my BRD pedals, and the strong spring being used, give some nice resistance as I depress them further...

Here is my precious:). It took 2 evenings to assemble it to the "ready to use condition". I can recommend it to buy!

Looking good! Even though I own both pedal types - the WWII German ones, and the Su-35 ones, I also opted to go with the Su ones (for now). They just have the right width and heft to them.

Right, there are several types of guide profiles which you can install for rudder and stick. The guides give you different "load" in center and more realistic resistance at the edges of the movement, so resistance in the center different than at the edge.

Baur has finally gone international...

Proud owner of a BRD-N floor-mounted stick with his KG-13 grip and Mi-8 pedals from him and planning to order a second pair of controls.

Everything I am praying for is a BRD collective and throttle to make BRD a true HOTAS.

GO BAUR!

P.S.

The guy is great as are the products. Just buy them, you won't find a better bargain for the price. He worked meticulously to optimize his manufacturing process and make it as sturdy and affordable as possible and I believe NO ONE can beat him to it. But others have stolen his designs before he has hit the market and we all know who it is.

How much for these? Is there a direct comparison with MFG Crosswind?

Ask directly Bauer, he will answer very quickly (brd-2014@inbox.ru), but the price, i am sure, will be competitive, the price depends from the model of rudder, options and country of delivery. I only know that Crosswind is not from the metal and Bauer rudders fully from the solid metal. Also the precision and smoothness of the Bauer rudders just amazing.

If those are actually R/C you better get some damper oil ;)

Been running a few cars, 1/8th nitro and 1/5th FG, despite those dampers are rugged they do need service over time as they arent fully sealed/tight, rubber O-rings loose some every time you move them.

I dunno, not really service free. Have like a dozen if those with Eibach's ;)

RC Dampers under test.

Well, I think it is not a good idea at all.

The CAM plates have to be very responsive, and should not be braked. If you dampen their movement they will be unable to follow the CAM wheel`s quick motions and will give a sloppy feel.

If you read the link that Sokol posted, you can see that Baur himself did not like any of the outcomes of his testing this dampers...

I know! I have a BRD-N on order... :)

Which one exactly? I might have to go that route soon, too...

Now a second spring in my VKB Mamba MkIII broke, and VKB is not sending out spare parts... lol. They think they're too expensive to send out, as they could send 200 springs for the same price. They offered to include springs in my next order from Stratojet... but that's not happening anymore, is it.

I've come to the realization now that VKB is a letdown when it comes to getting spare parts... I mean, come on in less than a year of ownership, two springs snapped, and the one I replaced the spring that broke a few weeks ago with is the last one of that strength, and I have to use lesser springs for the extension now, that weren't really designed for the task....

IMHO the damper needs to be between the stick and the base, somehow.
