First of our 29s should have came back from russia after rehaul and upgrade in december, but from what I know it didn't even go yet. There were some problems.. it prooved to be in even worse condition than it was thought. There were also talks of doing part of the work here, but seems that russians had some problem$ with that :D

New MFDs in cockpit, units-meters are now replaced by feets, IFF was implemented (similar like in F-16) and that big antena is prob. "response device" I hope you understeand mee.

Few weeks ago Serbian government released thirty million US dollars for overhaul of few MiG-29’s that we have. So, it is happening. I wonder if the overhaul will include updating them as well.

Janko, mee too, i love it also, I would be happy if lockon will have it.

 

Modernization of our migs was heppened by our, russian, and western companies. It also cost a lot, and it was big question if it will better to buy new aircraft or not. But thos way was cheapest and for small country as ours it is best way. Americans try to seel to us older F-16 - THANK YOU :P , also some Gripens, Mirages and new MIG-29S or SMT were offered. But to buy old jets like F-16 and Mirage 2000 is like to buy old boots with best performance as your older. But it is not wise solution. Czechs also got similar offer. But they choosed Grippen. They also refuse F-16, F-18, Mirage.

That 'antenna' is a new hyperagility invention, some speculate it's antigrav, others say it's a mooring anchor, I think it's a second vertical stabilizer, with a small rudder to remove the need for 3d thrust vectoring. :megalol:
