aairon Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 Hello I had DCS world 2.03 running fine I thought but have been messing with my computer settings and was going to check my frame rates in some familiar missions/campaign but found that in DCS world all I have is Nevada and the assorted training missions for nevada but nothing in the way of anything other then that. Are those campaigns and missions and terrains stored in a folder that didn't get transferred in the update to 2.03? Thanks in advance I'm hoping it's just my old age and it's something real simple I forgot so please help. :-) Flying sims since 1980 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Mobo: Asus Z170 Pro Gaming CPU: i7 6700K @ 4.7 GHz Video: EVGA GTX 1080 Ram: Patriot DDR4 2800 8GBx2 PWR:Corsair RM750i
cthulhu68 Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 (edited) DCS World 2.0 should only contain Nevada terrain . DCS World 1.5 is a separate version and contains Caucasus map. I'm not sure how you "updated" but downloading 2.0 should install in Eagle Dynamics folder along with 1.5 not overwrite it. Edited September 8, 2016 by cthulhu68
Silver_Dragon Posted September 8, 2016 Posted September 8, 2016 DCS: W 1.5.X and 2.0.X version has "temporal" version meanwhile ED end Caucasus theatre conversion to T-4 theatre engine (as NTTR) and others improvements. Actually, 1.5.X and 2.0.X has incompatible and copy/paste into versions only make problems. Need wait to the DCS: W 2.5 version (unified version). aairon Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 (edited) I see my fault then I'll shelve the sim until the caucasus campaign is converted. Bummer I bought a nice looking world where there's nothing to do. cthulhu68 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 Unfortunately not much to do in Nevada map yet. I've altered a Huey "mission", and I use that term loosely, for use with KA50. Give it a whirl. :ufo: 1

I should have waited for awhile I guess. I'm not up to developing missions or campaigns myself and was hoping to pay someone else like ED to do it. cthulhu68 Posted September 9, 2016 Posted September 9, 2016 ED is hoping to merge the two in the "Great Unification" by the end of the year but it doesn't seem to be set in stone. You can download and reinstall 1.5. They each have their own folders in Apps and Saved games.
shagrat Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 And there are two Red Flag Campaigns available for Nevada. As well as some Instant Action missions depending on module, plus a bunch of multiplayer servers running missions on Nevada, and you can use either the Mission Generator to quickly set up a generic Red vs. Blue field battle or edit it in the Mission Editor, or dive into mission building. Keep in mind the Nevada Terrain is not even released! It is still in Alpha development and getting new airports, more details, and new effects. Of course there aren't too many missions available as there is a good chance further development will break them and require additional work.
