Looking forward to this campaign, but a little disappointed it seems to lock me into ramp starts.

Not that I'm not capable of doing them, just that I typically only manage to eek out an hour here and there to play, and ramp starts eat into that a fair bit. Plus I fly aircraft for a living, so spending a half hour running on the ground doing pre-flight checks is kinda mundane for me as I do it every day :smilewink:.

Any way I can modify the files to allow a hot start from parking? ME won't let me save the files when I do....

Thx!

I'd sure like to fly this but I am currently stuck in Nevada as I only have 2.0 loaded on my system. Sigh. Someday soon maybe.

Autostart + time compression and you should be good to go in 1 minute, if that's your thing.

There's an auto start?? And I've been doing this myself like a sucker??!

Realistically I can get all the switchology done pretty quick, it's just waiting for the darn EGI to align that kills me. I usually turn it on as soon as the APU is on to help, but I'll look into the auto start.

Thx!

I wonder how people manage to sit idly in the pit while INS aligns.

I always go through stuff in the CDU, prepare target waypoints in case I get coords from other units, set up a couple of options, then set up weapon profiles in the DSMS and make sure I haven't forgotten anything.

By the time EGI is done aligning and the jet is ready to go, I usually haven't had much time to spare.

Same. Even with my custom CMSP programs and TAD profiles preloaded in the cartridge, there's plenty to do during alignment, from IFFCC to DSMS to LASTE.

+1

I often have a little time to wait but really not that much, and in the worst case there's time acceleration for anyone not willing to wait.

I find it much more immersive to do the ramp start, but that's just a personal thing I guess.
