Follow task - helicopters

I have 2 AH-1W escorting a UH-1H using 'follow' command. I've set the spacing so they're slightly ahead of the UH-1H. They're ROE weapons free, but not engaging an enemy BTR-80 and infantry I placed on the route. All three helicopters evade only. Is this normal.

 

Any advice on having them attack any enemies they encounter? AH-1W are set to escort task.

Try the Escort Advanced Waypoint Action instead of follow?

The Apaches are usually pretty ruthless if you turn them loose.

 

You can also try search then engage group with the CAS tasking and use a condition such as unit inside moving zone to trigger it via ai task push.

May be a bug in latest 1.5.4 version. I cannot get a Huey to attack with door guns, or a sa342L to attack with cannon either, despite ROE - weapons free.

Huey won't attack with door guns AFAIK. You need to use miniguns or rockets. Don't know about the Gazelle.
