If you want this to occur. Try 1.5.5 MP open/close chat. That is when I noticed it. I do not have mods.

 

 

But If I "ctrl+tab" a few times to open/close chat the cursor returns.

I had this happen on a repeatable basis today in Multiplayer. I fly using one 27" monitor and another 27" monitor to view TS, voice attack etc. I found that when the chat window opens my mouse disappears. If I move the mouse to the second monitor then back to the monitor I am flying on it will reappear, but not all the time. Sometimes I have to keep opening and closing the chat/info window for the mouse to show up. I have not tried this off line since I do on my flying in multiplayer. When I exit multiplayer and return to the main screen I don't have a cursor and have to exit using task manager.

Where can I follow the progress of that bug report? Right now this is game breaking for me since I exclusively play MP and well, losing the mouse in the middle of a long flight keeps ruining my weekend so far. ;)

 

No more DCS for me until this is fixed.

Bug reports are not public, all I can tell you is it has been reported and ED devs will look at it first thing on Monday, most likely looking at it already.

It is worth noting that during my troubleshooting of this issue I found that although my cursor was gone I could still select from the esc menu.

 

You have to guess the position of the cursor, and the menu buttons will turn blue when you are over them, if you can select resume the cursor comes back.

Tested this offline and did not have the same experience. Seem to be ok. Also found on the Burning Skies server that when the server sends the Targets Remaining message the cursor disappears.

Trying to blindly use the ESC menu, via the option being highlighted by the invisible mouse cursor, has mostly ended in frustration for me.

The mouse cursor disappeared, and menu options stopped highlighting, trying to get the very brief highlight to show up on the right one. They stopped lighting after a short time of blindly moving the cursor around. I had to ALT+F4 to get out, as it turns to blindly clicking the button everywhere at that point.

 

Multi-player is the only reason I've been flying in DCS. I stopped due to this bug. Hope it gets fixed very soon.

Agreed it is not easy to use the ESC menu like this, but it is the only work around I have so far.

 

Still no news? Another Weekend without DCS approaching? Please let us know what's going on.

 

No news yet, I had hoped it was a simple issue to be fixed but it has turned out to be more complicated.

I am having the same problem losing the mouse cursor in the middle of an MP flight. Very

frustrating as I have not been able to escape the game without it and have to shut down my

PC to get out of the game. DCS takes up too much of my time as it is, never mind this crap.

For quick fix cursor in multiplayer please copy attached file mul_chat.lua into your installed DCS (replace existing one):

 

c<DCS World>\MissionEditor\modules\

 

This fix already included into OpenAlpha. Fix doesn't affect to Integrity check. Please wait for full and correct solution.
