Black_Hawk Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I just did a clean install of LO 1.12a, installed several mods (only skins) and I don't get the runway ilumination from that truck with the big light on it. I am SURE that the runway has that truck because I see it, my haze is set to ADVANCED, my lights are set to ALL and it is 0100 Zulu so the rnw definetely needs the lights. I tried the Mod made by Teka-Teka but with no avail; installed it - no go, uninstalled it - still no go :( What file do I have to change to make the lights work? 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
Corsair7662 Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 hmm, now very sure. have u tried making a game at night and if they show up?
Black_Hawk Posted October 14, 2006 Author Posted October 14, 2006 Well yeah, it was 1 in the morning :) I'm desperate at this point... 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
kam Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I think a plane needs to be on final before the light comes on. If i remember right.. Deadman Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 I had the same problem i had to uninstall lockon manualy delet the files that were left and reinstall lockon and the 1.12a patch to get landing ,and taxi on the air craft landing and taxi way lights on the airfeild back https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
zaelu Posted October 14, 2006 Posted October 14, 2006 Try to max out every setting just for a test.. Did you installed any tweak mod? Normaly lights set to all and advanced haze should do the trick. Black_Hawk Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 I tried everything, I'm going for a clean install of LO all over again... I'll get back with the results here :pilotfly: 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
MiGMadness Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 Start on the apron, taxi to runway, take-off then look behind you. The truck switches on the spotlight after an aircraft takes off. I assume it's to check for anything that can cause FOD or something.
Black_Hawk Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 Thanks, that solved my problem. Just as I thought I was going nuts :) But I remember the light being on even before taking off, nevermind, I'm happy now :smartass: 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
Black_Hawk Posted October 15, 2006 Author Posted October 15, 2006 Great, no light again. I made a simple mission: Just my Su-33 on Saki AFB, 00:00, take off from runway. I took off, looked behind - the truck didn't switch on the light, as I was going down on my final approach, the truck light remained turned off :joystick: What's happening. I did the same mission like that before (when I posted everything was ok) and when I wanted to try it again the light didn't come on... I don't know what I'm doing wrong anymore :joystick: 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
zaelu Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 You have to be in "landing" mode on that airfield to make the truck switch on the lights... I supose you weren't in the appropiate navigation mode. Just make a landing by the book without take off (airstart before initial approach) and see then. Brit_Radar_Dude Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Mmmmm, from memory so I could be entirely wrong, but I thought there were a couple of air-bases that did not have the searchlight trucks at the end of the runway. I thought that they were Saki? and Simpheropol? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Sorry Death, you lose! It was Professor Plum....
Black_Hawk Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 Zaelu sent me a track with his landing and in it the truck DOES turn on it's lights. When I play the mission myself it does not. So it is not a graphic issue. But it annoys me because I like seeing detalis. And furthermore, when I land I see my aircraft lights on thr RNW, so the truck light should be also visible but it is not :joystick: 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
anivanov Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 True, you have to be in landing mode. When you reach 8.6 km from runway on final approach truck light will turn on.
zaelu Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 As I told you in the last PM, is from the fact you weren't most probable in the landing mode and/or when you manualy switched to it you had already passed the final approach fix. Also in that track when you change the side/aircraft the final waypoint switches from "landing" point to "turn point" which causes your plane not to intercept the ILS. Black_Hawk Posted October 19, 2006 Author Posted October 19, 2006 Well I am SURE that I did pass all the waypoints in the right order, my final waypoint was landing, I was in the CORRECT mode but still I cannot see the truck light. And it is very frustrating :joystick: 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
ALDEGA Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 If I'm not mistaken, you need to turn on "advanced haze" and "all lights" to see the ground lighting. Try this, it's worth a shot. It's possible that Track files include these settings, which is why you see it when watching the Track. If I'm not mistaken this is similar to the way settings are "pushed" in multiplayer. (could be wrong)
Black_Hawk Posted October 22, 2006 Author Posted October 22, 2006 Ok, after a third reinstall of LO it got fixed. Now, what's bothering me is HOW did the Birdy's scenery mod stay in the LO folder. Because I was modding the game step by step and after installing the Scenery mod (which is BTW GREAT!) the truck lights dissapeared. After putting the original scenery files there was no truck light again, so I had to reinstall again. My guess is that the scenery files are connected to other files in some way... Anyway, I got it sorted :smartass: 159th GAR LockOnFiles CAW Team
hitman Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 3rd party mods dont get deleted in an uninstall because the installwise program doesnt know these files are there. You have to manually chunk these files in the trash or move them after the uninstallation.
