I found that info about the 401 Squadron talking about bomb and drop tank capability of Mk.IX.

http://www.vintagewings.ca/VintageNews/Stories/tabid/116/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/405/language/en-CA/Spitbomber.aspx

The article talk about:

- 30 and 90 gallon slipper tanks

- 45 gallon "cigar" tank

- 500, 250 lbs bombs.

The actual DCS: World Mk.IX has different version?

Drop tank were needed especially for crossing the Channel without beeing low in fuel during dogfight. And bombs were used by the Spitfire in 1943 to attack V1 launch site on the Normandy and the Spitfire IX in late 44 was used for bombing whereas recent Spitfire were used to fight the Luftwaffe.

I hope we will have this stuff

The pylons are coded in the LUAs but commented. So I think it will be "activated" in the near future alongside the proper munitions and drop tanks.
