Not sure where i should post this so feel free to move this to proper area.

This morning i ran DCS Updater Utility.exe and my AV flagged as malware. Never had this happen before. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

(I know it isn't malware or anything bad i'm just curious if it's happened to anyone else):helpsmilie:

got to be AVAST, bitdefender or Kerpesky I would imagine

they are all a nightmare with DCS

Hi Bignewy, Bitdefender is fine. Dcs runs fine with Bitdefender these days. But ut didn't used to be like that, true... I remember very well

I also use Windows Defender on Win 10 and never had it flag a DCS file as malware. I do get some blatant false positives every now and then on my less clean laptop though, so if you have a lot of stuff on your PC it might very well be just your heuristics wrongly picking it up.

+1 check heuristic and reset it to default ( usually MEDIUM )

on high you will be prompted with tons of false positives

I'm not an expert, but I think if there would be some other malware in your machine, trojans etc. they want internet connection and by injecting themselves with some other program which has internet connection would cause connection to be "infected". So they legit program makes connection and trojan hitchhikes with it, maybe AV then detects that there's something weird happening and flags the legit program as malware. Like I said not really an expert the technical stuff with these.

Firstly the Thread for The Utility is Here:

https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053

Secondly, it's not an Eagle Dynamics Product nor Affiliated with ED.

Thirdly, About a month or 2 Back, MS Updated their Definitions for Windows Defender and they reset default settings.

10% of the time when you launch it will try and say it's a Trojan, It's a False Positive, Windows Defender is now VERY sensitive to CMD Line Codes and Any Application that launches an EXE Via CMD Line.

Has also been discussed in the thread the last 45 or so days.
