SharpeXB Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) Has anyone been successful at getting a 4K upload to YouTube to actually process as 4K? Every time I try it it only ends up as 1440p. I've watched a lot of instruction videos and read a lot but still no luck. It seems more complicated than just making a 3840x2160 30fps MP4 at a target bitrate like this says. https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/1722171?hl=en I'm using Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13 to make the videos and then uploading a file to YouTube. Here are my video settings, is it possible that my bitrate is too low? I can only select 28 or 50 so I thought lower would be better for processing. Mars Exulte Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) Well, YouTube uses H264 format (or whatever it is). I was unaware there was any special procedure. It should simply be a regular upload. It does take a while for all the resolutions to become available sometimes. I have uploaded up to 1440p60 videos without issue. Once upon a time, 60fps videos were behind a paywall if I reminder right, is that the case here with 4k possibly? There are quite a few 4K vids on YouTube these days, so it can't be TOO difficult I'll test tonight -edit Make sure you don't have bandwidth saving or anything like that enabled in YouTube. You can disable playback of higher resolutions (I have for example) Post one of your vids so we can see if it's just your end, and if WE can see it. SharpeXB Posted December 24, 2016 Author Posted December 24, 2016 I can see 4K resolution on YouTube myself. It's not a question of "uploading" the video, it's getting YouTube to play it back at that resolution which has me stumped. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
