How to change default centre view of cockpit?

Recommended Posts

When I sit in a comfortable position and centre my TIR, I find that, for example, I'm looking too low into the cockpit. Is there a way that I can change the default "centre" of the cockpit so when I centre my TIR it will look there? Thanks.

Actually its really easy, takes 20 seconds to do. Use SnapViews to set the default position of the head as also default view angles.

Is snapviews a permanent solution, or do you have to do it each time you lower up DCS?

Sorry I made a mistake in my previous post,

Press Num5 to reset your view to the current default. Adjust your view as you wish it to be do not use any snap view keys to do this use mouse. Press RALT+Num0 this will save your new default view.

sometimes when i join a MP server my view is screwed up (ie.. too close - or backed way too far back)

i try to reset the view and it doesn't work - only "fix" is to exit the game and come back in

anyone else have this?

Unfortunately you can't do much about it on your side. Some MP server have a setup which overrides the user settings.

YES!

Annoying as hell. You can also keep taking another aircraft type and slot. rather than rejoining the entire thing. Took 5 attempts yesterday until it got right. Also I tend to pause a few seconds, but noit sure if it makes s difference yet.

Unless you're picking another type of the aircraft for which there is no view config stored in the mission file it'll not make any difference. If the mission files stores the view configuration for a given type of plane you're doomed to fly it this way or to find another server. Changing slots will not help.
