I would ask that another item or items be added to the AWACS menu. I think everyone who's experience an overly chatty AWACS would appreciate this.

x. Radio silence until contacted.

or

x. Radio silence.

x. Resume transmitting.

there is a few ways of using that command already in game. Look in your keybindings.

One way is Rshift+\. Not sure why there is more than one command for that, but there is.

I'm not getting an assignment highlighted when I press those keys. Can you give me the name of the action you're referring to please?

Sorry still at work. Trying using this commands in game. Rshift+backspace, enter. May also work. Works for arc communication also. Can set to all none or player.

Thanks for the tips will-. I tried the Rshift \ and it corresponds to the action Receive Mode in most of the modules.I had a hard time finding it because the Sabre and P-51 do not have that action in their key commands.

It cuts down somewhat on the AWACS constant chatter but not all of it. In a heavy air-to-air environment it would still be nice to shut him up completely until he is told to resume transmitting so clients could talk to each other over Teamspeak in multiplayer missions.

I'll try the Rshift+backspace, enter next time we fly. Any idea what action this is performing?

I've just noticed it w/ different keybinds on some modules, but always still worked w/ Rshift+\.

Now in the controls menu its called "Receive Mode" so feel free to remap if necessary. Seems also you cannot completely disable "turn off" messages but i do set mine everytime when flying multiplayer to "player communication" really then the only thing in game thats responding to me is atc and if a wingman actually sends me something.

Also if you call out to AWACS it will only send you your traffic and you wont have to filter out the 30 other people calling to AWACS.

Why don't you change the frequency on the radio, or just turn the radio off?

I expect that this is how you would accomplish it in reality, as I don't think the AWACS would stop broadcasting to the entire theatre because it's irritating one pilot.

Sorry if I'm missing something, or if this sounds unhelpful - it's not my intention; just not sure that this addition would reflect reality.

Fc3 planes don't have that option.

IIRC if you use Simple Radio Standalone you can change FC3 freq's ;)

so long as mission has easy comms disabled and allows SRS

sorry, been overdoing it in the a10c with the red flag campaign, and had a bit of a realism overdose. i think what i should've said was: good idea to be able to keep awacs quiet, but maybe the comms menu isn't the best place to activate it.
