Sweep Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) Are you serious? This is Poe's law : The post. This is like my wife's son getting upset because nobody takes his Call of Duty K/D seriously. Then when some kid challenges him he throws his tendies at the TV and tells the other guy to 1v1 on dust.... whatever that is....:pilotfly: It's Rust, not Dust. :megalol: this thread is so immature - im outa here :D  Probably a good idea...These threads really don't end well. The last thing this community needs is division on the grounds of who clicks more switches. *Goes back to throwing 30 switches to drop awesomeness in the Viggen* Edited January 28, 2017 by Sweep Lord of Salt
ApoNOOB Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 This has been terribly derailed. The discussion is not if and how FC3 players are more or less immature than others. This is not a discussion about individual servers setting up their missions with FC3 and other modules and how this doesn't fit into the style some people enjoy to play. And this also shouldn't be about servers balancing their missions to integrate asset X better. Each and everyone of those topics could have a pages long thread on it's own and trying to discuss all this in one will just lead to the train wreck experienced above. :) As I understood the topic, the question was if the MP community in general has become more toxic / immature. This can probably even be measured by server admins via friendly fire statistics and chat incidents? Maybe even server admins of the bigger servers could come together and do some datamining? For example, what kind of offenders are these guys that ram into people randomly on the airfield. Is this somebody who logs in once, does this and never logs into DCS? Will he try to troll on every big server until he is banned? Will these users go on become normal players over time? Do we need different / better / other admin tools to deal with troublesome players? That's all stuff that I am way more interested in this context. :)
theOden Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 ..For example, what kind of offenders are these guys that ram into people randomly on the airfield ... Will these users go on become normal players over time? No, these are "social media" players and have no interest in combat aviation whatsoever. This industry needs the 700 page manual back (Falcon 4) and programs like "Idol 2016" needs to be banned. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Eight Ball Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) Some of the most epic MP experiences I've ever had were with a small squad on our own private servers where we'd train, plan and execute missions (all against AI opponents / targets). So to the OP, I'd say try out a few squads and find one that meets your needs. IMHO, that's neither an ideal nor a long term solution. It happened with the ArmA serie, I remember the late ArmA1/early ArmA2 days where you could hop on servers like "Tactical Gamers" and enjoy a lot cooperation, with people coordinating their attacks, using coms (it helps when you have a built-in VOIP), etc. But nowadays it's pretty impossible to find such servers. I think the best solution is for the server admins to have a pool of people they can trust to become "part-time admins" when it's needed.
