IAB98 Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I love the fun of FC3 birds but I was wondering if there were any plans to make the F-15 have the advanced system modeling and clickable pits like all the newer modules. I heard belsimtek was working on "something". From my understanding, the F-15 already has the provisions for clickable stuff in the cockpit so it doesn't seem too hard. Is there any chance that this will ever happen?
firmek Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 I love the fun of FC3 birds but I was wondering if there were any plans to make the F-15 have the advanced system modeling and clickable pits like all the newer modules. I heard belsimtek was working on "something". There was nothing officially stated as far as I can recall. From my understanding, the F-15 already has the provisions for clickable stuff in the cockpit so it doesn't seem too hard. Is there any chance that this will ever happen? This is a far going assumption. The fact that it's possible to click a button doesn't mean that all of the functionality behind is there. Modeling the systems is way much more than just making the cockpit clickable. F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, Bf 109 4-K, UH-1H, Mi-8, Ka-50, NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf... and not enough time to fully enjoy it all
Sweep Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Yeah BST said they wanted to do an ASM Eagle. Do note, though, it is a LOT more than just switches...I mean, you have to build an entire weapon system. It's not a separate radar, RWR, INS, fire control, etc. It's all integrated. I think that if BST wants to do it, it will happen in time. Lord of Salt
TAW_Blaze Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Clickable cockpit is like 1% of the ASM. :) Making it clickable would be easy, on the other hand they will have to create the full avionics system from scratch basically. Only this time it'll be incomparably more difficult and complex.

Buzzles Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Could be totally wrong about this but I was under the impression that the Eagle that BST were contemplating was the E model...? BST version wasn't specific, but implied it was the 'C' as they are responsible for the current PFM. Razbam Sims are down for the 'E' version. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
Sweep Posted January 27, 2017 Posted January 27, 2017 Could be totally wrong about this but I was under the impression that the Eagle that BST were contemplating was the E model...? RAZBAM is doing the E (Strike Eagle). BST wants to do the C. Edit: aaaaaaaaaaand sniped by Buzzles! Lord of Salt
DarkFire Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 OK cool. Having both the C and E models as 'DCS' level modules would be awesome. Now I just need my DCS Su-27SM :) System Spec: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P Black Edition case. | AMD 5950X CPU | MSI RTX-3090 GPU | 32GB HyperX Predator PC4000 RAM | | TM Warthog stick & throttle | TrackIR 5 | Samsung 980 Pro NVMe 4 SSD 1TB (boot) | Samsung 870 QVO SSD 4TB (games) | Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Crew Dog Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 (edited) Probably doesn't help that a lot of the weapon control systems and radar suite are still classed Top Secret where more of the Strike Eagle is only Secret. If it's down to this, we'll most likely see the E model before an ASM C model. And I'm with you Darkfire, can't wait for an ASM Flanker and Fulcrum! Sweep Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Meh, let me take CFTs off the Strike Eagle (oh, yeah, about those F100-229s...) and I'll pretend it's a C. Lord of Salt

Sweep Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Oh, so you actually want a D model :D No, that would mean I have to use those wimpy -220s. I want more. F-15C with F100-229s. (hey, i wonder...what about the F110-132s...? Can somebody put THOSE in a C? 70,000ish lbs of thrust in a 40-50k airframe. That'd be interesting...) Lord of Salt
