It obscures other data on the HUD when that happens. Puma Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 Drift is correct. Pitch lines follow your fpm by default so anything causing drift will cause them to move. Somewhere in the ifcc test menu you can disable that. In F-16 it's called drift c/O for drift compensation. I found it weird at first but am now totally used to it. The corresponding manual section is at page 359 (from 671), at least I didn't found something like that. Thanks for that. fpm? FPM = Flight Path Marker, or also called TVV for total velocity vector. It's this thing here: Anyone know how to disable it in the A-10C? Puma hints that it should be possible via the IFFCC menu. However I didn't find it yet. You can access this menu by flicking the IFFCC switch to TEST. The HUD then displays the menu instead of the 'regular HUD'. At startup you probably notice that when performing the 'Startup Bit Test' in the HUD. After the test, you're in this menu. It's this switch here: Edited January 30, 2017 by Zabuza 1

I believe TVV is the correct name in the A-10C, but it's not uncommon to be called FPM as well; the manual even mentions this in the section on the TVV. Maybe it's called TVV in the A-10C because there's also a Flight Plan Menu abbreviated as FPM in order to avoid confusion between the two, but honestly I'm not sure about the reasons for the naming convention.
