I didn't see anyone here discussing this thread. Link to thread is here.

Basically, using another PC to host the game and offloading some work to it. Has anyone else tried it yet?

I'm getting ready to in about a week or so but I was curious if others have tried it. It seems to have helped Swordfish greatly in playing one of the campaigns (later in the thread)

Hmm, interesting. I don't see why it wouldn't work, DCS wouldn't know any better. But you'd have to measure the CPU contention and VM overhead.

Just the terrain (NTTR) I believe. But if it helps with maintain 90FPS I guess you can pick it up during one of the sales.

I can't test right now, but plan on doing it w/in the next two weeks.

I tried this once and don't see any performance gain at all, it seemed to be no better but with all the hassle of setting it up so I gave up. Perhaps I should have persevered, it will be interesting to see how you get on with it though.

Seems costly given that you have to purchase the modules, terrain and missions you want to use.. twice.

Not to mention, a second PC.

You didn't need to purchase them twice!! You have 9 installs when you buy so it doesn't cost any extra!!

I rather think it is 9 activations but there is something to preclude use on more than 1 pc. I may be wrong though:book:

i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64

Yes, to run on 2 separate machines at the same time you need 2 activations (for NTTR) on 2 separate accounts. Someone tried to do the virtual machine trick but starforce would not allow 2 separate activations on one physical pc even with 2 purchases of NTTR and 2 accounts.

PC:

6600K @ 4.5 GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 970, 32" 2K monitor.

I hav 2 PC's but am I right in thinking/hoping that one of them neednt be a particularly good PC?

Define particularly good! :) I'm hoping to test it with my Surface Book (not Performance Base) It does have SSD and i7-6600 at 2.6GHz and 16GB memory. So not exactly a slacker, but not top of the line either.

I hope to test it tomorrow or Saturday. I'm too busy playing with my MPCNC (getting ready to build switch boxes)
