I no longer have internet connection, when starting DCS all I see is a black screen. Is there something I have activate to get DCS to open now that I'm not online?

Thank you.

Seems odd but if I had to guess I would suspect that the autoupdater is hanging when it tries to check for updates. Aside from module activation, or starting MP, that is about the only time DCS should care about, or attempt to interact with, the internet connection.

Perhaps opening the activation program manually and putting in my key #...?

you understand activation requires an internet connection

Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i3; RAM: 8 GB; Free hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: 2 GB RAM card, DirectX11 - compatible; requires internet activation.

Recommended system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+; RAM: 16GB; Hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX780 / ATI R9 290 DirectX11 or better; Joystick; requires internet activation.

hi

attach your dcs.log we may find some clues.

guide in my signature

I tried a text, jpg, pdf...nothing is attaching...I'll try a bit later.

Here is some:

NET: HTTP request dcs:news failed with error 6: Couldn't resolve host name

NET: HTTP request dcs:hwreport failed with error 6: Couldn't resolve host name

The same issue occurred trying with 1.5 beta, 2.0

Are you saying that no one can fly DCS if they're not connected to the internet?

You can fly without internet but you can't activate a module.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Hi fitness88

zip your whole log folder and attach it, guide in my signature

I've attached in the past many files successfully, I'm using a new computer, for some reason it's not allowing me to attach anything...let me figure this out.

Thanks for the help BIGNEWY but I think it's at my end. I can upload the file and when I click on the paperclip and then click on the file that was uploaded it usually would get attached into the body of the email. Now when I click on it nothing happens.

I'll take another crack at later on and thanks again.
