I'm old and lazy. I always purchase online. Delivery at your door.

Guilty here too! ;)

It has been many years since I purchased a PC part, or dog food :P, in a brick and block store.

I'm tired of looking. I've decided to go with this one. It's light on ram, but I can add that myself.

No. You can't overclock with the B250. 8GB of RAM is not enough. SSD 128GB is too small and cheap.

TAKE YOUR TIME. Patience.

Do I need to OC? It's at 4.2 now. It's only $100 to add two sticks of 8GB of ram. Less to add two more sticks of 4GB of ram. As for the SSD. I'm only using a little less than 1.50g now for everything. That's OS, DCS with 3 modules, IL2 BOS. IL2 COD, and 4 racing sims.

I picked this system, because it's a i7 at 4.2. So, I won't have to mess with the CPU now or the future. The ram is easily upgraded. The GTX 1060 6g will be fine for now and again something I can change in the future. I just don't want to have to mess with the CPU. Plus it's in my price range. I won't have to wait for it to be built. I can have it in 3-4 days. My present system is painful to use in DCS. It pisses me off every time I fly.

Make any sense?

The i7 7700K will run at 4.5Ghz (turbo boost) in big loads. Take it, Bit will be happy...

The B250 has only 12 lanes available for the PCI-e configuration. The NVMe PCIe SSD use 3 lanes, so only 9 lanes remain for the video card. Your video card don't use more than 8 lanes but if you addition a SSD later, get a SATA SSD. Samsung SSD are the best, Crucial MX300 are very good.

The only problem with the RAM... There is a chance, if you add more stick, they will not work with those already installed in this pc. Even if you get the same model/company. You need 16GB to run DCS properly.

It's always better to have 2x8GB instead of 2x4GB now and 2x4GB later.

The peoples takes the risk, i only want to warn you.

Congrats for your new pc.

Hello fellow Coloradan, Just get that Cyberpower PC from Newegg. That is a nice machine and will last you many years.

I don't like to over analyze, when I want something I just go for it.

It is not the worst that could have happened and 4.5 is very nice, even if you cant oc further, that is totally fine.

The RAM might be an issue, but you can sell the 8GB and buy a 16Gb kit later on, that is not a deal breaker.

PCIe lanes might have a catchback if you intend to extend this beast with addon cards, NVMe and all sorts of peripherals.

Keep it sleek and it will work. Do not overload it with additional hardware that you plug into the PCIe slots.

I wished they would have left the 1TB out but therefor gave you a Z270 board. THAT would have been the right thing, as adding a xTB drive is easy anytime later on.

Still, 4.5GHz and a GTX1060 6GBwill get you far !!!! ...maybe you have to get the 16GB kit to make this sentence true, we will see.

Ok, thanks guys. When they gave me the check yesterday for the loan I didn't deposit it. That gave me a little grace period to sleep on any decision I made and give you guys time to comment on whatever I found to buy.

I would have liked to get what you recommended Bit. I just couldn't do it on my budget. They were more like $1700-$2000.

Before I buy the system i'm going to call up Cyberpower and see if they can give me a better deal on the same system. Maybe I can get it boosted to 4.5 and 16g of ram for a similar price. We'll see.

As for adding the extra hardware you guys are talking about? I doubt I will, because i'm not even sure what you're talking about. I know the system will come with no bloatware and i'd like to keep it that way for hardware and software.

Really interesting to watch this develop as I never look at assembled systems. @BuzzU, did you look at the ABS Vortex Leo listed on your link, i7, 270 chipset, 32gb ram, 1060 6gb, 240gb ssd, at $1,199.99. Seems like all good reviews. Good luck!

The Asus Prime Z270-P that you will get is identical to mine but the graphic conns are different, good board for a fair price, you really wont regret it.

Once you get it, make sure it runs a new Bios, default is 0505, newest is 0906 as of today.

Yes, I appreciate all the advice from all of you. I agree it's a great community.

The hard part now will be the waiting for it to show up. I don't wait for beans!

I called up ABS to ask about the system. I didn't see it listed on their website and since it was discounted $200 I thought maybe it was discontinued. He told me it was one of their newer systems and the best value they have right now. He said the price won't last much longer and it will go back up. Real nice guy and they picked up the phone right away. I like that.

8GB RAM is fine for DCSW, but there is the option to upgrade if you need to. I only get close to using my 16GB when I run VMS for testing stuff (only reason I put the 16GB in there, could use a bit more though ;))

To be fair that's not a bad way to spend $1000.

32GB is likely not enough RAM to load DCS in RAM drive...look at the map sizes these days.
