Well, technically, it doesn't 'require', as You can remap all numpad-related functions anywhere on the keyboard You want. There are people playing the sim on notebooks after all.

 

I find the numpad too handy, however, to play without it. It's a subjective matter, though.

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

Yes, mostly. I think the throttle is mapped to +/-, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I don't use the numpad, my views are handled by trackir, and zoom is mapped to the hotas.

The only reason I'm asking is because I'm getting a RGB keyboard at a good deal. Which does not include the Num Pad. This will help clean up desk and stuff. Also i will have some other way of adding buttons since I'm getting the Razer game pad that lets you assign macros

I used a MacbookPro 15" and it worked, no Numpad on that one either.

 

You have to remap a few maybe but totally possible...and yeah that RGB stuff is great, I hate non-lit keyboards meanwhile, used to Laptops that have lit kb's
