artmustel Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Hello, I'll start this apologizing for how silly his question may sound, but I need to ask it anyway. I am trying to do the setup for an old set of rudder pedals. They seem to work, but I am stomped since I don't know how are they supposed to work. What I mean is: pushing right pedal in should take airplane to the left, or to the right? After your laughs at my silliness, please le me know lol. Thanks! ;)
VZ_342 Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Push Left pedal = plane angles left Push right pedal = plane angles right If you're trying to do a coordinated turn, watch the turn and bank indicator and "step on the ball". (If ball is to the left step on left pedal). Be gentle and just caress the pedals don't stomp on them. Adjust as needed as speed changes etc.
cichlidfan Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 FYI, you are, by far, not the first person to ask that question on this forum. I am quite sure that you will not be the last, either. :) ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! artmustel Posted April 2, 2017 Author Posted April 2, 2017 Thanks to all you. I think what confused me is to think of the feet movement as if they where moving a car steering wheel. You have been very gentle!

Automan Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 its even worse if you set up an R/C plane with "inverted" controls by accident... A HELL OF A RIDE !!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, a brain reset is needed for this:megalol: What helped me is that I started flying with pedals with the Mig-15, that have a fixed nosegear and you need to use the brakes for steering. So RIGHT TOE BRAKE=PLANE TURN RIGHT --> RIGHT PEDAL PUSH= PLANE ANGLE RIGHT... and so on ACER Predator Orion 9000: W10H | Intel i9-7900X OC@4.5Ghz | 8x16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport | Sapphire GTX1080TI | Intel 900P 480GB | Intel 600P 256GB | HP EX950 1TB | Seagate Firecuda 2TB ACER Predator XB281HK: 28" TN G-SYNC 4K@60hz ThrustMaster Warthog Hotas, TPR, MFD Cougar Pack, HP Reverb Pro

BitMaster Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 And since it's exactly opposite of how bicycle handles work, I can totally understand why people would ask. actually....NO ! You start with a push on the handlebar and then pull like you are used to. Most people will just not recognize the small impulse you give with the push.
