flick Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 I wish there were sounds to accompany the explosions when the MLRS Rockets hit their target. The explosions could be a bit more realistic? Cheers

shagrat Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 (edited) I wish there were sounds to accompany the explosions when the MLRS Rockets hit their target. The explosions could be a bit more realistic? Cheers  The artillery rockets currently model area effect munitions. One explosion overhead that dispenses the submunition and after a second or two impact with a similar effect like a cluster bomb... At least last time I was under fire from rocket artillery. DPICM munitions is the only one modeled currently for the rocket artillery, it seems. Also Wags hinted at explosions getting updated already, in the Normandy related streams, possibly with DCS 2.5. Edit - and if course I could hear the explosion like any other explosion. Unlike Hollywood movies, DCS takes distance, air and speed of sound into account so in F7 view near the target it is instant and loud overhead in a plane or F2 view it might be a little "pop" taking a couple seconds to reach you.
