I had an i5 4670k stock clocks and asus gtx770, 16gb ram and full hd. I had "pretty high" graphics settings, 8x msaa, 16x Anisotrophic, hdr on etc, with mig-21 i had pretty decent fps, low peak 42, high peak 90-100.

Now i upgraded to 1070 and i might get as low as 35fps when in ground and using regular POV so i can see both cockpit and outside as you would. If i look down to only see the cockpit, my fps get to 100, or if i look outside so i do not see the cockpit i also get 100..

up in the air the FPS gets better over all but i am pretty dissapointed in performance. I realize my CPU is bottlenecking somewhat but still, i've tried to fiddle with the settings, and fps hardly change.

Field of view has always been disabled. Any ideas?

EDIT: the GPU should be fine, according to other games and boosts up to 1962mhz(!) stock

In DCS 1.5 check to see that you have Full Screen ticked (on Game Options), as it can reduce fps quite a bit in windowed mode, and on the vga change it probably was reset to default.

For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra

For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar

Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

Thanks for reply but it was on and i've even tried to alt-enter to fullscreen it manually..

Actually it seems the CIV Traffic seems to be the culprit, changed it from HIGH to LOW and i get 55-65fps on ground with mig-21 and 90-140 up in the air

Amazing.

Thanks for sharing the solution ... will try it out myself, since I also have civ traffic on high ... never tougth that it could consume too much processing power.

In the last but one (I think) update for 1.5.6, changelog specifically mentioned serious performance deterioration caused by civ traffic, with recommendation to turn it off. That hasn't been fixed yet.

Also, keep in mind that 1.5.6 just doesn't utilize modern cards very well (1070 user here too).

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
