FragBum Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Hello, I found this: but im not sure which from this options should be set for pedals. Can you tell me please ? Also, what other options/buttons i should consider mapping ? Much apreciated! Mmmmm well this is a classic question yes you can use the twist grip for pedals but in my experience that will last maybe a few seconds before you get frustrated using it. Honestly get a set of pedals even cheap ones will be vastly better than using the twist grip option. The other thing here is the cyclic covers roll and pitch but there is vastly much more to it than whats indicated in the picture. I flew Huey using a logitech 3D Pro joystick and after the first night I ordered my pedals after a while I got to thinking and well I can do better. Have a look here ;) Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. qba1500gmail.com Posted June 8, 2017 Author Posted June 8, 2017 I mean i already have bought the pedals, but i cant find a picture like this for pedals to know which options i should set for them.
Art-J Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Well, rudder pedals are for rudder or "Nose left/right (yaw)", as they call it on the picture above. Don't know how the function is called in the Huey controls options menu, 'cause I don't own this module, but I'd guess with 99% probability, that it's called "rudder" as well (under "Axis Assignment" tab). i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
qba1500gmail.com Posted June 8, 2017 Author Posted June 8, 2017 Alright, and what about "pushing" movement. When i step on pedals, what fuction should it be?
John Hargreaves Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Yes I'm pretty sure it's rudder in the Huey control settings. Make sure you clear all assignments for any other input devices you have attached, as they can cause conflicts against each other. By default, every device you have attached to your PC will be assigned an axis for the basics, rudder, cyclic etc even if they don't do proper axis commands. If you just plug and play it will end in tears and flames and you won't know why. I only know this by crashing in tears and flames many times and trying to figure out why. i7-7700K/Gigabyte RTX2080/Win10 64bit/32Gb RAM/Asus Xonar DX+Sennheiser HD380pro headphones/LG 34" UM65 @2560x1080/TM Warthog+VKB MkIV Rudder pedals/Rift CV1
John Hargreaves Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 (edited) Alright, and what about "pushing" movement. When i step on pedals, what fuction should it be? Just match up what your pedals are doing to the animation in the cockpit, but pushing the left pedal will turn the heli to the left. I think the one axis controls both left and right in DCS, some sims have separate left-right rudder assignments Edited June 8, 2017 by John Hargreaves i7-7700K/Gigabyte RTX2080/Win10 64bit/32Gb RAM/Asus Xonar DX+Sennheiser HD380pro headphones/LG 34" UM65 @2560x1080/TM Warthog+VKB MkIV Rudder pedals/Rift CV1
cichlidfan Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Alright, and what about "pushing" movement. When i step on pedals, what fuction should it be? If you mean the left and right toe brakes, the Huey doesn't have any, as it doesn't have wheels, so leave them unassigned for that aircraft. FragBum Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Oh different question, in settings select axis controls and in the row that corresponds to rudder go over to the column for your rudder controls from the drop down box select you new rudder pedals Z axis. Make sure you also deselect the entry in the pedal row that assigned your joystick twist action to pedal that should be blank now. If you have brakes on the pedals you can assign them also is indicated if that aircraft has them. That's all there is for pedals, it will take a little getting used to but you will find it much better. Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment.
