Majesco Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 What smoke is on the tail of the planes when they go to 8000m ? All planes have smoke on their tail when they reach the altitude of 8000m and then disappear at 12000m
Hellcat61 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 They are particles of crystalized water vapor that condense around the aircraft's exaust at high altitude. Basically man-made clouds. "When you're out of Tomcats, you're out of fighters!"
FrankTheSpank Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 It means you need to flip the cloud making switch to off in your cockpit. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sp0nge Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 What's that SU-27 skin? haven't seen that around... Look Cool Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Guest IguanaKing Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 That's the "con layer", Majesco. In LOMAC, its fixed. IRL, its variable depending on local atmospheric conditions. They are basically man-made clouds. The exhaust from a jet engine basically just provides a few extra condensation nucleii for water vapor in the atmosphere. :)
Majesco Posted December 19, 2006 Author Posted December 19, 2006 Thank you all ! @sp0nge: that's the Su-27 Disruptive skin from Lockonfiles....
sp0nge Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 uhh, ok! Thanks majesco Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
51GRIZZLY Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Just look into the sky any given day and you will see dozens of Vapor trails from Commercial and military airplanes
Majesco Posted December 20, 2006 Author Posted December 20, 2006 Thanks Countrycowfreak, but why does it disappear at 12000m (appear only at altitude of 8-12km) ?
Toady Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 And in real life combat conditions you'd stay well out the con layer as it acts like a great big pointer saying 'Look at me. I'm up here'. ;) Read to bother hands their on time much too with people only that bit little the.
51GRIZZLY Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Thanks Countrycowfreak, but why does it disappear at 12000m (appear only at altitude of 8-12km) ? As Iguana stated it is scripted in Lomac between 8000 to 12000m. but in real life it varies depending on athmospheric conditions. http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/wxwise/class/contrail.html
