jojo Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 There is an early Mirage 2000C RDM manual out there, written in French. It's outdated, but the differences between Mirage 2000C RDM and RDI are mainly about weapon system, so data about flight control, auto pilot, cabin pressurization, hydraulic or fuel are still relevant. French accident report are public, you can find some systems description in there too. Plus you may cross people who knows the plane, or know someone who knows etc... Mirage fanatic ! myHelljumper Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 even Zeus told us that 80% of the module was made on a guess. Do you have a quote on that ? I don't remember it and 80% looks very high to me. jaguara5 Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 I remember that post. But zeus has told that they are aiming for an 80% realism not that 80% is guesswork
Esac_mirmidon Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Every DCS module has some degree of guess work. A well informed guess work could be accurated enough also. " You must think in russian.." NeilWillis Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Perhaps reading the thread next time is a good idea :) So now I can be flying with a lot of damage to the plane but all systems are perfectly good. Its so unrealistic. If thats not important for you in a simulation you are free to leave the thread. But for us real life pilots its a deal breaker. I did read your thread. Did you read the ones regarding progress? The fact that there is a new damage modelling system being developed by ED may be the reason you have seen no progress on the Mirages damage model. The fact remains that the module isn't being neglected - which is what you stated. So yeah, I read the rubbish you wrote. Now you know about the progress being made maybe instead of trying to fight a hopeless cause, you might consider withdrawing it?
myHelljumper Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Every DCS module has some degree of guess work. A well informed guess work could be accurated enough also. Yes of course, but if you look a bit into the real manual you will see a lot of things that are identical, so 80% guesswork is sure wrong. Joni Posted August 8, 2017 Author Posted August 8, 2017 I was wrong, when he said that he was referring to the combat systems and ecm. That is what was not available to them. Esac_mirmidon Posted August 8, 2017 Posted August 8, 2017 Agree. I´m only trying to said that gess is not the same as wrong. You can have information, real information about a system, function or equipment, but some things are always secret or unknown, so it´s impossible to model some of this systems according to the real thing at 100%. But having enough information, comparing similar systems, asking the right people and understanding the way this systems works, all together will fill almost every gap or hole and the guess work will only complete this few pieces missing for a high fidelity end result. Talking about % is not the important thing. " You must think in russian.." Slims Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 I don`t think hydraulic systems are simulated. Try flying over a shilka when he shoots your wings of while going in flames towards the ground there is no change what-so-ever in hydraulics. Damage systems are very rudimentary on the mirage modeled.
