Need some help.

Been using JSGME a long time in my (C: drive for 1.5.7 in the Stable Version and its OpenBeta.

Also been using JSGME in my (M: SSD for 2.0 for quite awhile with no negative issues. And it has been working fine until this last update on August 11, 2017 with the JSGME.exe file located ONLY on my (C: drive.

This guy says JSGME still works in the latest 2.1.1 :

I think most people's problem is that they are not putting JSGME in the right place and/or not altering the INI file correctly.

Let's say your 2.x folder is in C:UsersDieHardSaved GamesDCS.2.x

Start by placing JSGME.exe, JSGME.ini, and the _MODS folder in the DCS.2.x folder.

Next open JSGME.ini and edit the StartIn= line to read: C:UsersDieHardSaved Games

Save the altered INI file.

Now, any mod you have in the _MOD folder will install into Saved GamesDCS.2.x assuming you have properly restructured the mod's folders. So the F-18 mod for instance would have folders that read: ModsaircraftF-18. What you would end up with is: C:UsersDieHardSaved GamesDCS.2.xModsaircraftF-18 after JSGME installs it.

To be honest, I haven't had the time to install anything using JSGME on my own computer. But this is what you need to do to get JSGME to install things in the right place. JSGME creates the _MODS folder in the folder it inhabits. And the StartIn folder has to be one up from there.

Ironhand,

Thanks for your post and your help.

In the Saved Games 2.1.1 DCS.openalpha path I installed this download as new installation. The setup sequence establishes the _MOD folder and everything needed to run properly.

This is the latest edition I found :

JSGME is working in 2.1.1 as this sound mod is working correctly on the "Burning Skies" server :

Diveplane's Bf-109 Sound Mod , I got from here:

(Interesting, DCS Forums won't let me link it. I just downloaded it to my desktop, the link works.)

If you want it, Google knows.

Diveplane has a Facebook page full of goodies DCSW friendly :

Yet, Quartermasters' Bf-109 mod is not working currently within Saved Games (used to work fine) :

BF-109K4 HD English Cockpit [METRIC] 1.5 & 2.0

I do not think that problem is JSGME but how the Saved Games folder does things, now.

Still experimenting and have found other message postings this month (August 2017) within the DCS modding forums to work through trial and error.

At least got over that hurdle.

Thank you

Yet, Quartermasters' Bf-109 mod is not currently (used to work fine):

BF-109K4 HD English Cockpit [METRIC] 1.5 & 2.0

The cockpit folder structure seems to have been changed to make it easier to have several alternative cockpits. The ideal would be for Quartermaster to modify its Mod a bit, so the new cockpit would have to go on this path:

Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Bf-109K-4\Liveries\Cockpit_Bf-109K-4

In the meantime, what you can do is to take Quartermaster's modded texture files (22 .dds files) and put them inside a copy of this existing zip file:

Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Bf-109K-4\Cockpit\Textures\Cockpit_Bf-109K-4_Textures.zip

... then use this modified .zip file as the only file in the mod, in such a way that when applied by JSGM it would replace the standard Cockpit_Bf-109K-4_Textures.zip file. Then the Mod will work on the game ... just tried it :)

That's my conclusion as well. Mostly it's a matter of figuring out how the sim is using the Saved Games folder. I've now gotten JSGME to install several things that the sim can access correctly. Often, though, I had to change the folder paths from what you would think they ought to be. Some (liveries) even needed to be installed outside of the Mods folder.
