Slazi Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Interesting reading. Makes me want to fly DCS WWII birds again.
Scooternutz Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 There is just something about these old birds and hearing those engines purr. It is mesmerizing. I was fortunate to get a pit pass at the Reno Air Races in 2002 and just hearing those engines start made it all worth it. Andy1966 Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Wonderful article SiTh, I must Quote: and Fluid yaw stability is a shared trait of all the Bf109 series. It wants to be told what to do with the rudders every second and it delivers instantly, giving opportunity to yaw with minimal drag for a deflection shot or to provide subterfuge and evasion. Precise controls feel hand made and adjusted like a fine watch. Move anything one mm, and you will get exactly one mm of aircraft movement, with no slop or delay. There is the feeling of enough airframe rigidity and strength to fly through a tornado unscathed. Controls for radiator and propeller are switched into automatic once gear and flaps are retracted. All that is left is a desire to hunt. I agree Scooter, Like hearing a beloved song... We are Virtual Pilots, a growing International Squad of pilots, we fly Allies in WWII and Red Force in Korea and Modern combat.
