nuts Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 I have TM f-22 hotas, great stick back in the day, is there any adapter for the antiquated pin arrangement so I can use it with USB today? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
debolestis Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 No, but with Leonardo pro micro and Mmjoy2 and one usb cable F22 can be moded in 20 minutes. - Debolestis' Shapeways store - Debolestis' Facebook page - Suncom SFS and Talon restoration and mods - Cougar replacement gimbal

debolestis Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Yes, buy two leonardos 5V, cables and if you have basic soldering skils you can try this shield that I have made, you can buy it on OSHpark. Shield will meake things simpler and it will look nicer. Later you can change pots with sensors but if you are begginer leave it for later. - Debolestis' Shapeways store - Debolestis' Facebook page - Suncom SFS and Talon restoration and mods - Cougar replacement gimbal
Sokol1_br Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 (edited) For the stick the job is basically fit the Arduino inside - the shield make thinks easy but is optional - make a 5 pin plug for match grip cable connector and wire the two potentiometers adding a 3rd wire in each one. :) Throttle need a bit more of work, is need replace that "eraserhead" thing, with mini-stick or HAT. shagrat Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 You can try a Gameport to USB adapter. It is worth a try, for a couple bucks... If it doesn't work as expected, Button programming isn't likely to work, neither the script options or the Foxy Software. DirectX inputs like axis, hat and buttons, should work. The Arduino solution is definitely the more professional one and opens more options later, though. Shagrat - Flying Sims since 1984 - Win 10 | i5 10600K@4.1GHz | 64GB | GeForce RTX 3090 - Asus VG34VQL1B | TrackIR5 | Simshaker & Jetseat | VPForce Rhino Base & VIRPIL T50 CM2 Stick on 200mm curved extension | VIRPIL T50 CM2 Throttle | VPC Rotor TCS Plus/Apache64 Grip | MFG Crosswind Rudder Pedals | WW Top Gun MIP | a hand made AHCP | 2x Elgato StreamDeck (Buttons galore)

Sokol1_br Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 (edited) You can try a Gameport to USB adapter. DirectX inputs like axis, hat and buttons, should work. Thing is that gameport to USB adapters where designed for the basic sticks at the time (~2000), Tm FCS, CH Flightstick, Sidewinders... not for multi-buttons 'HOTAS", they handle only 4/6 buttons, not the 18 buttons + POV HAT in F-22PRO grip, their controller has low resolution for axis = 8 bits, 256 "steeps" . Anyway the best is Rockfire RM-203. Edited August 30, 2017 by Sokol1_br
nuts Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 F-22 PRO @ USB - cheap and easy: Whoa, how do I do that? I'd like to fly my spit using the f22. Such a nice fluid feel. If love to see if it will work. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
pngflyer Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Hi nuts, Sokol1_br (and others) answered lots of questions for me on this very issue recently, so I'll paste a couple of bits from his answers to save him writing the same again:). There is lots of info in this thread below too. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=120049 Sokol said that at the moment people are using the TELE5010/11 sensor in Arduino PRO Micro with MMJoy2 firmware. If this doesen't make sense (it didn't to me at the start) be prepared for lots of reading in the forum I linked above. He also linked them for me if you want to buy: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/TLE5...634095245.html Mmjoy2 ready to use from China: https://world.taobao.com/item/520508...cmdRUvf#detail I'm not expert on this and still trying to understand it myself. Also check out the forum on modding a Suncom F-15 stick for usb. Hope this helps. pngflyer

Although the "shield" PCB under Arduino PRO Micro make connections "PnP" and looks good, you can do the same in "Redneck" way, welding the wires to pins: FYI - Not sure about Data, CS, SCK connections, this is always confuse, check MMjoy2 topics there and/or SimHQ.
