I was looking through the available armanent in the mission editor and saw multiple types of rockets. Is there some sort of table that explains what they are used for and how they are different from each other, maybe some explanations? A tooltip box would be nice when you hover mouse on the armanent selection page. Like what is lau 68 he and what is lau 3 wp, their purposes and effects etc..

I guess ED and Belsimtek thought the descriptions where more or less self explanatory.

They are all effectively variants of the Hydra 70 - 2.75-inch (70 mm) FFAR (Folding-Fin Aircraft Rocket) i.e. same body, different warhead.

FFAR is the original 1948 rocket from which the Hydra 70 (better engine/range) was developed.

attachment.php?attachmentid=168571&stc=1&d=1504438383

LAU 3 = 19-tube launcher, hence "LAU 3 - 19 ..." in the description.

LAU 68 = 7-tube launcher, hence "LAU 68 - 7 ..." in the description.

HE = High Explosive

HEAT = High Explosive Anti-Tank

WP = White Phosphorus

etc.

So ...

... what is lau 68 he and what is lau 3 wp, their purposes and effects etc..

lau 68 he =

LAU 68 = 7-tube launcher

HE = High Explosive

lau 3 wp =

LAU-3 = 19-tube launcher

WP = White Phosphorus

However it's perhaps not as obvious if you're not a native English speaker i.e. White Phosphorus = Valkoinen fosfaatti

Note: The 2.75" rockets are the Hydra 70 with it's better engine and longer range.

Thanks for your info. You are talking exactly same thing I mentioned about. But still looking at the 2nd and 4th row it would be nice to explain the difference.

This problem is not only for F-5E rockets, but other aircraft and other munitions may also be confusing. For example I know absolutely nothing about the armaments of the Russian aircraft. If I would see a list of the things to be loaded on SU-25 I would suffer.

It seems that there are 'light' and 'heavy' versions of many of the heads available for the Hydra 70. The M156 is a bit heavier than the M67, so the M67 rocket will probably have a flatter trajectory (easier aiming) but produce less damage on impact.

In practice the HE and HEAT types are the only ones you should use: HE vs soft targets like trucks or aircraft parked in the open, HEAT vs tanks or APCs.
