muehle007
Hi Mnemonic, thanks for this fantastic gimmick. It works fine with LockOn 1.12a, but it seems to me that Lomac's FPS are a little bit influenced. Is there a possibility to resize the VP's window? Nevertheless: GREAT WORK  and I hope you will put in more gauges in the next versions. Together with zorlac's TouchBuddy this program will open new potentials to the LockOn community! Mnemonic
I have to open my eyes before I write something. It's ok, ok! )))) 1. Are you able to use TV out with this? 2. Will you be supporting Black Shark 1.2 ? 1. - Yes! I use it myself for testing ;) 2. - Yes! Shure! I hope :) It works fine with LockOn 1.12a, but it seems to me that Lomac's FPS are a little bit influenced. Is there a possibility to resize the VP's window? Wait for new version! There is no FPS looses, and I plan to do window resizable...
krel01
Mmmmmmmmh! I tried Virtual Panel with my Lockon 1.12a and got some problems. As written in the readme_en.txt I copied the 2 files export.lua and config.lua into the Lockon folder Lock On/Config/export. I wanted to run it in client - server mode with 2 computers.´ What exactly has to be in the line in export.lua ? Assume my ip is 192.198.199.99 Original: local host = host or "localhost" Modified for VP local host = host or "192.198.199.99" or local host = host or 192.198.199.99 or local host = "192.198.199.99" or local host = 192.198.199.99 ? I can't get any connection after starting up VP and then starting Lock On with a mission. PLEASE HELP !!! Strange is that I once had a connection but no flight instruments showed any reaction within flight although I got the "connected" title in VP. PS: In the readme_en.txt the version 1.02 of Lock On is used 2 times for "Installation of VP. Which one is for version 1.12a ? zorlac
1. Are you able to use TV out with this? do you mean the in-cockpit TVs on the MFDs? Then probably not....

It's a mistake ;) I think line must be like this: local host = host or "192.198.199.99" where 192.198.199.99 - IP of computer where VR starting Tomorrow I test VR on localnetwork. Yes that's what I did. If 192.198.199.99 is the machine where VP is started I entered this IP in " " in export.lua on my game machine. I will do further testing tomorrow. If I want to test it in local mode: Do I just have to copy the 2 files in the game folder if I just want to use it on ONE computer? Can I switch windows after starting VP and then Lock On ? Should I then see the title "Connected" ? Thanks for your quick help! Greetings krel01 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

krel01
Mnemonic, would you be so kind to give a VERY detailed step by step description what to do to get VP running in local and (more interesting for me) in client/server mode. I simply can't get VP connected to Lockon. What do I do wrong? MANY THANKS ! PS: If anybody else got some hints or experiences - this would be helpfull too! cheetah
I'm glad to present "Virtual Panel" for LockOn 1.12a Hey Mnemoic, this is great! Thank you  Im using Lockon/Virtual Panel in local mode with two screens. Looking forward to updates. Have you any plans for adding HSI? PS: If anybody else got some hints or experiences - this would be helpfull too! not much help maybe but.. All it took for me to get local mode running Download Virtual Panel Extract files to folder of choice Move export.lua to C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Config\export\ (or the folder you got Lockon installed to) Start VP.exe (you should see instruments/disconnect on left top) Start Lockon Load mission of choice (like instant battle.. no need to unpause when loaded) Alt+tab to desktop Virtual Panel should now show connect You have several versions of Lockon installed? Try to get local mode working first, that way you know VP works on your computer config before you start fiddling with networking. VP works solid on my comp, but there is a conflict with this and a soft called SABnzbd, making it impossible to have them both resident at same time. Ill talk to Mnemonic about it. This conflict results in program crash though, so it doesnt seem like your prob.
krel01
Cheetah, thanks for your description. I have just one Lockon version installed. I will try it in local mode - step by step - again tonight. I am using TouchBuddy and I got this running in client/server mode so VP should be possible too. I will try again! This is exactly the same what I experience too! After hitting "S" to start the sim the topic "Connected" changes to "Disconnected". This was tested in local mode now. In client/server mode it does not connect at all to Lockon. Any ideas?! Greetings krel01 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Mnemonic
Hi to all!... Today I'm tested VP in network mode, and don't have any problems :(... Maybe VP are locked by Firewall? And by the way, what wersion of LockOn are you are using for? this version is only for 1.12a P.S. If anybody need this, I'l give VP version for LO 1.02. But I will not support an older version in future.

This was tested in local mode now. In client/server mode it does not connect at all to Lockon. Any ideas?! in the pursuit of external gauges i have tried in the past to setup f4glass with lomac2glass and had similar problems, app would run but no data sent to gauges. never did resolve the comms issue. question is: what makes our setups different i wonder? i am running virtual panel locally, to a second monitor connected on the second dvi out from 6800 ultra vid card for the sake of testing i have no firewall, no AnitiVirus etc just xp pro sp2 lockon gold patch 1.12a i have made no other changes apart from copying over the 2 files in to the appropriate directory. would dearly like to get this sorted out, but i personally have no idea :)

G3
mnemonic, appreciate your effort and look forward to the new version, you don't know why mine and krels won't connect, that makes 3 of us :) just to recap if anyone has any ideas to help get this sorted: we start VP and all is well, start lockon and open a mission, VP connects. press S to start flying and VP disconnects, why????? zorlac
I get the same problem... while paused, VP shows "connected", but as soon as I hit S to unpause, it says disconnected. the error.log file shows this: LuaExport::LuaExportAfterNextFrame: closed LuaExport::LuaExportAfterNextFrame: closed LuaExport::LuaExportAfterNextFrame: closed LuaExport::LuaExportAfterNextFrame: closed LuaExport::LuaExportAfterNextFrame: closed LuaExport::LuaExportAfterNextFrame: closed LuaExport::LuaExportAfterNextFrame: closed
