*Firstly, I'll admit i'm not using the current 1.5.7.something build..

For now i won't be upgrading unless the consensus states that the lastest build have improved framerates... or at least back to 1.5.6 levels...**

with that I'm just wondering if anyone encountered this problem back in 1.5.6...

For some reason... I can not extend the Flaps if I'm above 200 KIAS..... :(

As seen in the next 2 pics.. I'm well below 250 KIAS that I can extend the Landing Gear.. but for some reason.. I can't extend the flaps.. and no... my keyboard nor joystick aren't broken..

rBvnKcv.jpg

cEBWpQE.jpg

50 knots something slower.. I can now extend the Flaps...

CQVhykA.jpg

NCzEpUr.jpg

Conversely.. if I go beyond 200 KIAS, the flaps auto-retract....

Really weird and annoying when a week ago, extension/retraction/auto-retraction can be done @ 250 KIAS below...

now I don't feel like doing overhead breaks etc.. because of this..

Any idea what can be done here? Thanks :)

For as far as i know the flaps auto retract and extend around 220/230 (not sure of this number). But not at 250 as with the gear. This only happens when you did not manually retract your flaps on take off.

So if you manually retract the flaps it should not automatically deploy when you are below 230. For as far as i know this has always been the case in the AFM F-15C. But i can be wrong.

Go in close, and when you think you are too close, go in closer.

Auto-retract should happen when accelerating past 240 and you should be able to drop the flaps below 250 - don't quote me on that yet, need to check the -1.

Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

You’re right, I checked the -1 earlier. They should be deploy at approximately 240kts and auto retract if you exceed 250kts.

I haven’t tried to replicate the issue OP is experiencing yet. Anyone who has feel free to chime in.

...knew it... something's really screwy with the Eagle's flaps here on my install...

I always thought 240 was the VFE something of the Eagle... because that how it was... a few weeks ago....

Tried it again... confirmed... the Eagle's flap logic is broken... as seen in the next pics yet again...

gears extended below 250 KIAS... flaps? ..nothing....

NSYrqD9.jpg

..now below 200 KIAS... flaps down, finally....

Anyways.. I guess this is kinda moot since the latest build is 1.5.7... and this oddity only happens in my 1.5.6 install..... ^^ unless this recurs in the next builds maybe.... ^^

....I think i have a real problem now...

I just upgraded to the latest DCS 1.5.7.10872...

Seems that the Flaps is still broken :(

..gear can be extended below 250 KIAS....

TKrIWCA.jpg

..flaps only extend below 200 KIAS...

tQv4HiC.jpg

Also.. still confirming but.....the longer I play, the worst it becomes.. need to be as slow as 180 KIAS  (will try to screen cap later... play duration should be at least 30 minutes long.....)

It's hard to tell by your pictures. When they aren't extended you're still doing 241kts. You don't need to show your HUD. We can see your speed in the outside view. Let's see a picture of you doing 235kts and the flaps still up in outside view.

Im sure that even @ 235, i cant extend the flaps... has to be below 200..

Im on mobile so ill post doing 235 and also try to recreate the 180 knots max flap extension later

Im kinda considering reinstalling the whole sim.. but that might be an overkill option..

Btw i tried assigning the flaps key to other buttons such as my joystick keys but still the same result...

Maybe try updating to the latest build? GGTharos tested on 1.5.7 and confirmed they are working. I don’t imagine people are going to revert to confirm this.

I'm using the latest build...

Ll5ZKLi.jpg

I just noticed another problem too... missing Distance Digits of the HSI..... but that's another matter

qhhz1FN.jpg

So as i was saying... Landing Gear extendable 250 knots... though it says 214 in the menu bar.. I just extended a bit late. Eitherway there's no problem with the gears...

..but Flaps not extending....

aFiYKZ6.jpg

2257 seconds from mission start... or 37 minutes elapsed time more or less.... flaps only extends around 170 knots now...... The longer a given mission is played.. the lower the flap extension speed it seems...

EmcvT1h.jpg

Aside from the reduced overall FPS compared to 1.5.6.XXXX builds (another matter anyway and it's known...) this is kind of a bummer.... but me being an F-15 fan.. will just play anyway...

I guess I'll just do long Approaches when landing for now...

Initially i had 1.5.6 at the time of posting.. Then i decided to upgrade to 1.5.7 by friday GMT +8 to see if the flap problem gets resolved..

Unfortunately, it didn't fixed the problem.

I know this sounds trivial but check your control assignments. Personally I’d clear them entirely and reassign. What command are using? Flaps auto? Or do you have flaps up and flaps down assigned to seperate inputs?

Posted

Flap Extend & Retract or the F key by default..

I also tried assigning it to my T.16000M but the flaps still won't extend.

Also another problem came out on my end upon upgrading to the latest 1.5.7...

The Distance counter of the HSI disappeared.. (already in the pics above..)

I tried clearing the every Button that has got to do with flaps.. Flaps Up/Down, Flaps Extend & Flaps Landing then re-assigned new buttons to each Flap commands

...still confirming but somehow it seems that I have to use to separate commands for the Flap to extend at 250-235 KIAS.. namely the Flaps Landing position & Flaps up..

I'm going to play a mission that's 30+ minutes long for now to confirm this..

I'll try to post the results later. ^^

Seems that flaps are working again.. after clearing & re-assigning keys.

I guess it's ok now... The problem with missing Digits of the HSI gauge still stands though...

EZyNgCc.jpg

and some missing textures.. perhaps I'll make another thread pertaining these..

Seems that I'll have to eat my previous post about this being resolved..

Flaps are still Broken after all....

I ran another mission, 45 minutes long and I had to be as slow as 170 knots just to get the Freakin Flaps extended... I tried all the commands Flaps Up/Extend, Flaps Down, Flaps Landing..but still the same...

I'll just go with the overkill solution and try my luck by uninstalling-reinstalling the whole DCS Program when I have time.. since I assume no else is experiencing this...

Thanks..

Flaps still broke as F afterall... :)

This is really frustrating now :D

g7NWTEx.jpg

I guess there's no need to confirm this one now as I'm prolly the only one experiencing this.. I guess somewhere along the way, the Sim's logic/program code got broke since I have DCS installed in my rig since 2014..

..will just get back to this thread after I re-install the whole game maybe..

Kind Regards :)

You can do a repair installation and see if that fixes it. It's in the start menu.

MS Win7 Pro x64, Intel i7-6700K 4.0Ghz, Corsair RAM 16Gb,EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW GAMING ACX 3.0, w/ Adjustable RGB LED Graphics Card 08G-P4-6286-KR, Creative Labs SB X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Champ PCIe Sound Card, Corsair Neutron XTI 1TB SSD, TM Warthog Throttle & Stick, TM TPR Pedels, Oculus Rift VR Headset CV1, Klipsch Promedia 4.1 Speakers...

Repair installation?

====

Yeah, I kinda noticed somehow that this problem seems to occur when I'm trying to do an overhead or something that has me trying to drop all the brake, flaps & gear.. close to an airfield...

When I'm doing long & straight-in approaches, the flaps do extend above 200 knots...though I'm using separate commands in the flaps namely, Flap Retract & Flaps Landing.. not the usual Flaps Extend/Retract...

might sound odd but, can someone verify this by doing an overhead break landing with the Eagle? perhaps this problem has got to do with waypoint Zero, ILS or something....

otherwise, i'll jut go with the uninstall/re-install option.

Kind Regards

Overheads work fine. Are you actually below 250 for a reasonable amount of time when you try to drop the flaps, or are you hitting the brakes?
