Wind Option?

Could we have an option to receive Wind information the way it's given in the United States? Here the wind direction is given in whole 10 degree increments and the speed is in knots. And it's spoken by ATC as:

 

example: "Wind, Two Seven Zero at One Zero"

 

with gusts: "Wind, Two Seven Zero at One Zero, Gust Two Zero"

 

variable wind with gusts: "Wind Two Seven Zero variable Three Six Zero at One Zero, Gust Three Two"

 

We never say it in smaller units.

I'm talking about ATC issuing wind information. The picture below is an example of what equipment that American ATC uses to issue wind from. As you can see it shows direction in 10 degree increments.

Oh okay gotcha, though to be honest the whole entire ATC system needs a complete overhaul of literally everything I can think of, as well as airfield services in general if we want to be realistic here. I can think of absolutely tonnes of stuff that could be improved upon to make stuff more realistic.

 

Adding to that we have the most crude form of weather editing possible for what's one of the best (if not, the best) consumer grade flight simulators around, maybe this could get feature as part of much needed improvements.

 

EDIT: I just tuned the UK's RAF VOLMET (pretty clear as day for me on http://websdr.ewi.utwente.nl:8901/ @ 5450kHz USB), unless the wind is sticking to nice round numbers today it's also giving them to the nearest 10 degrees.

Yeah that would be great, it would solve quite a few issues as well as player controlled PAR's etc.

As long as you're talking about the wind, it would be nice to not have an arbitrary extra value imposed on the mission builder when selecting a wind velocity for surface winds. For example, 10 knots on the surface results in a 21 knot wind at 1600 feet I believe.and if you decrease that value, it will start decreasing the surface wind value after a couple of knots. I would like to request that ED just allow the mission builder choose the individual values and directions for each level available to the mission builder.

It makes sense when you consider that it's too hard for a pilot to fly with one degree of accuracy. Most radar vectors issued by ATC to pilots are to the nearest 10 degrees, and only sometimes to the nearest 5 degrees except for PAR approaches which are a little finer.
