If I replace the planes with F-5E and Mig21, will that break any scripting?

Campaign gets a lot of praise, but I'm no fan of the F86 or Mig15 and have no desire to buy both.

 

If I open the campaign missions and replace the F86s & Mig15s with F5s & Mig21s will that break anything aside from the difficulty?

 

Will the campaign download and activate without its intended planes present?

Just to confirm, they can't be opened in the editor period or they can't be saved after changing?

 

I don't mind if my progress isn't tracked and I have to launch from the editor every time.

Hi Temp89. This is indeed possible. I just did it. :thumbup: I believe you do need to own one jet or the other in order to purchase the campaign, however.

 

As you've noted, you'll need to launch from the mission editor, you cannot save changes, and progress will not be tracked. There may be other side effects if there are triggers looking for specific ordnance (I.E. HVARs or other weapons specific to the F-86) but here's a screenshot of me sitting in an F-5 while the first voiceover plays.
