Bearfoot Posted October 23, 2017 Share Posted October 23, 2017 (edited) Just beneath the side cockpit panels, between the pitot tubes and the mirror mounts, there are what appear to be large plates: It does not appear in many real-world Mi-8's, it seems: But it is there in others: While the latest variants have something that looks like it might be the same thing functionally, but with perhaps a different geometry and placement: What is it? If you place an Mi-8 in the mission editor, you have the option to remove or add the armour plating.
